Senior Mainframe Developer

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain core mainframe applications using COBOL, CICS, IMS, JCL, and DB2.

• Support, configure, and integrate enterprise messaging solutions using IBM MQ and middleware technologies.

• Perform DB2 administration, database performance tuning, and utility management using IBM, CA, and BMC tools.

• Lead mainframe upgrade, migration, and modernization initiatives ensuring minimal business disruption.

• Develop operational automation solutions using REXX, Python, and z/OSMF workflows.

• Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex production incidents to ensure system stability and high availability.

• Collaborate with cross-functional technical teams on application releases, infrastructure updates, code reviews, and architecture design.

Skills:

• Strong background in mainframe development with hands-on experience in COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS, IMS, or IBM MQ.

• Practical knowledge of DB2 management tools (IBM, CA, or BMC utilities).

• Experience scripting and automating mainframe operations using REXX, Python, or z/OSMF workflows.

• Proven track record in mainframe system upgrades, data migrations, or platform modernization projects.

• Excellent production support, troubleshooting, and performance tuning capabilities.

• Fluent written and spoken English.
