Role Description\:
As a Supportability Through Life Engineer within the Maintenance Optimisation Hub, part of Asset Management’s Maintenance Management Function, you will use data exploitation to develop effective through-life solutions across the customer domain. Applying data analytics, root cause analysis and structured problem-solving techniques, you will produce evidence-based recommendations that improve platform availability, reliability and maintainability. Your expertise will enable our customer community to make informed maintenance decisions, optimise through-life performance and deliver sustainable continuous improvement
Core Duties\:
- Develop evidence-based maintenance optimisation recommendations to improve platform performance, availability, reliability and maintainability.
- Analyse maintenance data and performance trends to support effective planning and decision-making across the customer domain.
- Support development and deployment of the Maintenance Management Strategy, with particular focus on data collection, management and analysis.
- Analyse system performance and maintenance issues, providing recommendations to support RCM (reliability centred maintenance) Reviews and MRAB (maintenance reviews and acceptance board) activities.
- Produce robust analysis reports, Technical Queries and business updates, clearly communicating recommendations, progress, risks and issues.
- Investigate data-quality issues across UMMS, Trilogi, technical documentation and associated systems.
- Build effective relationships across customer, engineering, partner and supplier organisations, while mentoring colleagues, apprentices and placement students.
- Apply engineering governance, SHE, security, ITAR and regulatory requirements, while promoting process improvement and enhanced ways of working.
Essential Skills\:
- You’ll hold ONC, HNC, HND or Degree‑level education in an Engineering discipline (Electrical or Mechanical), or have equivalent relevant working experience
- You’ll have a working knowledge of the Engineering Lifecycle
- You’ll be aware of and adhere to statutory regulations, including those relating to Information Systems, Safety, Health & Environment, and Security requirements
- You’ll have an understanding of Integrated Logistic Support principles (especially RCM) and/or experience using Maintenance Management toolsets
- You’ll be able to use the full suite of Microsoft toolsets
- You’ll be able to apply Root Cause Analysis techniques and problem‑solving within a Supportability Engineering / ILS environment
The Maintenance Management team\:
As a Senior Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for responsible for supporting the identification and delivery of Maintenance Optimisation recommendations and opportunities through a combination of problem solving, root cause analysis and toolset data analysis to drive improvements to Platform Availability, Reliability & Maintainability across our customer domain. The role will provide you with the opportunity to work with various stakeholders both internally and externally. There will be opportunities for wider development within BAE Systems
