Senior Maintenance Technician (mobile equipment / construction / mechanic) - South America

Summary

Maintain, diagnose, and repair construction equipment on-site to ensure uptime and safety, using diesel mechanics, hydraulics, and diagnostic tools.

Your role :

You will be responsible for the maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of construction equipment to ensure availability, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities:
  • Perform advanced diagnostics (mechanical, hydraulic, onboard electronics)
  • Troubleshoot complex or critical failures
  • Carry out major repairs (engine, transmission, hydraulic systems)
  • Conduct root cause analysis and propose sustainable solutions
  • Use manufacturer diagnostic tools
  • Ensure proper reporting and follow-up of interventions
  • Act as a technical interface with manufacturer support teams
  • Comply with quality, safety, and environmental standards


Requirements

Education & experience:

  • Vocational diploma to Associate degree in construction equipment, agricultural machinery, or heavy vehicles maintenance
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role
  • Experience with construction equipment is highly desirable
  • Valid driver’s license required

Technical skills:

  • Strong knowledge of diesel mechanics, hydraulics, and electrical systems
  • Ability to read technical schematics
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools

Soft skills:

  • Autonomous and detail-oriented
  • Strong customer service mindset
  • Team player
  • Ability to work in field conditions
