Senior Manager Accounting & Financial Reporting
Location: Greensboro, NC
Reports To: Corporate Controller
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Manager, Accounting & Financial Reporting to join our finance organization. This role serves as a key leader within the accounting function and will be responsible for overseeing the monthly close process, managing the company's consolidation activities, and leading the preparation of annual financial statements.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting expertise, hands-on consolidation experience, and proven people leadership skills. This individual will play an integral role in developing team members, enhancing accounting processes, and supporting the continued transformation of a high-performing accounting organization.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Close & Consolidation
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Own the company's consolidation process, including intercompany eliminations, consolidation entries, and consolidated financial results.
- Coordinate close activities across accounting teams and business units to maintain an efficient and predictable reporting timeline.
- Monitor close performance metrics and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and scalability.
Financial Reporting
- Lead the preparation of the Company's annual audited financial statements, including footnote disclosures and supporting schedules.
- Coordinate and manage the annual external audit process, serving as a primary liaison with external auditors.
- Ensure financial statements are prepared in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies.
- Support the research, documentation, and implementation of accounting guidance for complex or non-routine transactions.
- Partner with the Corporate Controller to maintain and enhance financial reporting processes and accounting policies.
- Responsible for the Company’s cost accounting, including accuracy of bill of materials and review of variances.
Team Leadership & Development
- Manage, coach, and develop a team of Senior Accountants and other accounting professionals.
- Review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and other critical close deliverables to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Establish performance expectations, provide ongoing feedback, and support professional growth and career development.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
- Assist with recruiting, onboarding, training, and retention of accounting talent.
Process Improvement & Systems
- Serve as a key leader in ongoing accounting transformation and process improvement initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen controls, reduce manual effort, improve reporting quality, and accelerate the close process.
- Optimize the use of accounting technologies, including D365, FloQast, and Flanful.
- Support system implementations, process redesign efforts, and automation initiatives across the accounting organization.
- Develop scalable processes and controls to support future business growth.
Internal Controls & Compliance
- Help maintain a strong internal control environment through effective review procedures and process documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and established financial controls.
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to address audit findings and implement process improvements.
- Support compliance initiatives and special accounting projects as needed.
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Collaborate closely with FP&A, Operations, and other business partners.
- Provide accounting guidance and support for strategic business initiatives and special projects.
- Partner with finance leadership to communicate financial results and key accounting matters.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with increasing responsibility.
- Demonstrated experience managing the monthly close process within a multi-entity organization.
- Strong hands-on consolidation experience, including intercompany eliminations and consolidated financial reporting.
- Prior people management experience with responsibility for supervising and developing accounting professionals.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting principles.
- Experience reviewing journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and month-end close deliverables.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
Preferred
- CPA designation strongly preferred.
- Public accounting experience.
- Experience preparing or leading the preparation of audited financial statements.
- Experience within manufacturing, distribution, or other complex multi-entity environments.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365), FloQast, and/or Flanful.
- Experience leading accounting transformation, close optimization, or process improvement initiatives.
