Senior Manager, Accounting

The role combines technical accounting, revenue recognition, financial close, controls, audit support, and process improvement.
You will partner closely with Finance, Legal, Product, Operations, Tax, and other teams to translate complex requirements into clear business solutions.
Your work will directly strengthen accounting processes, controls, reporting quality, and operational scalability.

Accountabilities
- Partner with finance leadership and business stakeholders to assess complex transactions and operationalize revenue recognition policies under ASC 606.
- Research and document complex accounting matters by preparing technical accounting position papers, white papers, and policy memoranda.
- Support accounting activities for the parent company and subsidiaries, including intercompany transactions, consolidation, and statutory compliance.
- Strengthen SOX-related controls across revenue, financial close, and reporting processes by identifying control gaps and coordinating remediation with process owners.
- Own technical journal entries, account reconciliations, and reporting deliverables throughout month-end and quarter-end close cycles.
- Develop and maintain audit-ready documentation and act as a key point of contact for external auditors on technical and operational accounting matters.
- Build scalable accounting processes and tracking mechanisms for new revenue streams and payment initiatives, reducing dependency on external consultants.
- Collaborate with Legal, Product, Operations, Tax, and Finance teams to support strategic business initiatives and communicate accounting conclusions clearly.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting efficiency, scalability, and accuracy through automation, data analysis, and AI-enabled tools.
- Manage multiple accounting projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of accuracy and execution.
- Coach and guide accounting team members where required, contributing to capability development and a strong culture of accountability.
- 6+ years of post-qualification accounting experience with strong practical knowledge of US GAAP.
- 4+ years of experience supporting external audits and/or designing, implementing, or operating SOX-related controls; Big 4 public accounting or US audit experience is preferred.
- Strong hands-on experience applying ASC 606 revenue recognition principles across complex business models, including subscription, transaction-based, marketplace, payments, lead generation, or professional services environments.
- Proven experience with financial close, reconciliations, technical accounting, and high-volume transaction environments.
- Strong analytical and judgment skills, with the ability to evaluate complex accounting matters and turn technical conclusions into practical business recommendations.
- Advanced proficiency with Excel and experience working with ERP systems.
- Interest in using automation, AI-enabled tools, and technology to improve accounting efficiency and scalability.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain complex accounting topics to both finance and non-finance audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and collaborate effectively across Finance and broader business functions.
- Strong project management and execution capabilities, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- People management or mentoring experience is preferred, with the ability to coach and develop colleagues.
- Exposure to AI, digital platforms, subscription businesses, or platform-based revenue models is advantageous.
- Experience with multi-sided marketplaces, payment processors, or digital service platforms is a plus.
- Familiarity with financial analytics and reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or SQL is beneficial.
