Senior Manager, Business Architecture
Summary
As a Senior Manager, Business Architecture, you'll lead a team of consultants and project professionals delivering Guidewire implementations that help customers achieve their business objectives and realize long-term success. You'll operate at the intersection of people leadership, customer engagement, and delivery execution—ensuring high-quality outcomes while supporting team development and driving strategic growth across your region or portfolio.You'll serve as a cross-functional thought partner, collaborating with Engagement Managers, customer executives, architects, developers, and product teams. Your experience and influence will help shape critical business and technical decisions, establish delivery standards, and drive continuous improvement across complex enterprise implementations.
This role is ideal for someone who has built their career within a Guidewire System Integrator (SI) consulting environment and brings deep Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance domain expertise. You'll be comfortable advising executive stakeholders, leading complex Guidewire transformation programs, and translating business objectives into scalable Guidewire solutions across core insurance functions.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Business Architecture
Maintain ACE certification in multiple Guidewire products and possess a strong understanding of how InsuranceSuite products interact.
Establish project and team standards for business requirements, solution design, and documentation while ensuring consistent adoption.
Investigate and implement tools, techniques, and processes for configuration and requirements management.
Lead business elaboration sessions covering Guidewire and adjacent capabilities including integrations, reporting, analytics, forms, and data.
Define business requirements and validate solution designs that leverage Guidewire products and technology to achieve customer objectives.
Leverage AI tools to improve delivery productivity and drive innovation across Guidewire implementations.
Business Consulting Leadership & Governance
Lead the Guidewire functional or technical workstream for large-scale customer implementations.
Provide mentorship and oversight to Business Analysts and consultants, ensuring alignment with Guidewire base functionality and implementation best practices.
Review and approve business requirements and solution designs.
Ensure requested enhancements align with customer business objectives while maximizing out-of-the-box Guidewire capabilities.
Anticipate implementation risks and proactively develop mitigation strategies.
Support Guidewire and customer teams in resolving complex business and application issues.
Partner with client business leaders and enterprise architects to ensure solutions address regulatory, financial, and operational requirements.
Apply deep Guidewire consulting experience and P&C insurance expertise to advise customers on business process optimization, solution design, and implementation strategy.
Team Leadership & People Management
Lead and develop a team of Professional Services consultants.
Provide coaching, career development, and performance feedback.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous learning, and excellence.
Promote knowledge sharing and best practices across delivery teams.
Strategic Client & Stakeholder Engagement
Serve as a trusted advisor to customer executives, architects, and delivery leadership.
Present business and solution roadmaps with confidence to senior stakeholders.
Support pre-sales activities, including solution reviews, estimates, and proposal development.
Collaborate with Product Management, R&D, and Cloud Operations to resolve product questions and influence future product direction.
Internal Impact & Enablement
Contribute to Guidewire business architecture standards, playbooks, and reusable delivery assets.
Mentor functional consultants and help develop future business architecture leaders.
Participate in architecture forums and knowledge-sharing initiatives across regions.
Represent Professional Services in strategic cross-functional initiatives and innovation pilots.

Architectural Excellence – Deliver solutions that maximize Guidewire base functionality while meeting customer business goals across complex programs.

Billable Role - This is a Billable role with a 65% utilization target
Required Skills & Experience
Experience in enterprise software business architecture with significant implementation and delivery experience.
Deep expertise implementing Guidewire InsuranceSuite products, including PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, and/or BillingCenter.
Required experience in a client-facing consulting role with a Guidewire System Integrator (SI) Partner delivering Guidewire implementation programs.
Demonstrated Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance industry expertise with experience in one or more core business domains, including Claims, Underwriting, Distribution, Policy Administration, or Billing.
Proven ability to define business application solutions across multiple workstreams and enterprise programs.
Demonstrated ability to develop business requirements that maximize Guidewire base functionality.
Experience partnering with customer program managers, architects, technical teams, and executive stakeholders.
Experience supporting pre-sales activities, including solution estimation and proposal reviews.
Strong understanding of Agile delivery methodologies and Guidewire Cloud implementation strategies.
Proven ability to lead, mentor, and inspire consulting teams.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related analytical discipline.
Travel Expectations - Travel expectation is 40% aligned to customers and practice leadership
Preferred Skills & Experience
Multiple Guidewire certifications (PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, BillingCenter Business Analyst).
Experience leading requirements definition across Guidewire Cloud implementations.
Deep expertise with Guidewire Cloud products and architecture.
Strong understanding of insurance enterprise systems and end-to-end business processes.
Experience mentoring first-time managers or team leads.
Experience leading digital transformation or cloud modernization programs.
Contributions to internal frameworks, accelerators, reusable assets, or delivery methodologies.
Professional certifications such as CBAP, CBA, CPCU, CIC, CRM, ARM, AAI, or AINS.
Experience building Communities of Practice or mentoring Business Architects across multiple teams.
