Role Purpose
As Senior Manager, CAD Development, you will lead the technical drawing capability that turns venue concepts into buildable layouts for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. You will guide a team of Managers, establish CAD standards, and translate operational requirements into accurate designs for non-sport venue space, furniture and equipment placement, and overlay. Working across logistics, planning, and procurement, you will help shape how the Games take physical form and set foundations that many venue decisions depend on.
Key Responsibilities

Supervise a team of Managers in CAD Development, setting priorities, standards, and workload across venue projects.

Lead the development of CAD drawings for non-sport venue layouts, furniture and equipment placement, and overlay designs.

Establish and maintain CAD standards, templates, and best practices, translating internal requirements into accurate drawings.

Create, review, and approve drawings for accuracy and compliance, and oversee version control and document management.

Align delivery with project milestones and support cost planning and procurement with detailed layouts and quantities.
Required Competencies
-
8+ years of experience in CAD development, including at least three years leading or supervising a CAD team through complex delivery.

Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and related design software such as Revit, Rhino, and BIM tools used across venue design.

Proven track record managing complex, concurrent projects, multitasking, and prioritizing competing deliverables under tight, immovable Games deadlines.

Strong technical skills across Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, for documentation and reporting.

Leadership skills to guide and develop a diverse team, with clear, confident upward and downward communication.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

Available to work onsite in our Downtown Los Angeles-based office.

The majority of work will be conducted in an office setting, requiring extended periods of time using computers, phones, and other office equipment.

The LA28 office is an open floorplan working environment; employees must be able to work efficiently in an open cubicle environment.

Hours of work may vary, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, especially during peak event periods.

Perform other duties as required; the role will evolve over time and may include operational responsibilities during the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Occasional travel to venues, warehouses, or vendor meetings as required.

Compensation
The annual base salary range for this position is $105,000 - $125,000. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28's operational business needs and applicable law.
