We seek a Senior Manager, Cloud Data Platform Engineering to lead the strategy, governance, reliability, and operational excellence of enterprise cloud data and AI platforms. This leader will drive the evolution of scalable, secure, and cost-effective platform services that enable analytics, data engineering, machine learning, and AI capabilities across the organization. You will partner with engineering, architecture, security, infrastructure, and business teams to modernize cloud platforms, establish governance standards, and build high‑performing teams that deliver measurable business outcomes. This role combines technical leadership, people leadership, operational excellence, and strategic planning within a highly collaborative environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead enterprise cloud data platform strategy, roadmap development, and service delivery execution.
  • Manage managers, engineers, and platform teams responsible for platform reliability, governance, and operational excellence.
  • Drive modernization initiatives supporting Azure-based data, analytics, AI, and machine learning platforms.
  • Establish platform governance, security controls, compliance standards, and operational guardrails.
  • Oversee service performance, KPIs, SLAs, capacity planning, risk management, and executive reporting.
  • Champion automation, Infrastructure as Code, DevOps, DataOps, MLOps, and continuous improvement practices.
  • Partner with business, technology, security, and AI stakeholders to enable platform adoption and innovation.
  • Manage technology investments, vendor relationships, budgets, and resource planning while delivering scalable and cost‑effective platform services.

Basic Requirements

  • Requires a degree or equivalent experience, 9+ years of professional experience, and 1+ years of supervisory and/or management experience.
  • Hands‑on experience supporting enterprise cloud platforms in Azure or comparable cloud environments.
  • Experience with Azure Databricks administration, governance, monitoring, security, and operational support.
  • Experience leading platform operations for business‑critical data, analytics, or AI solutions.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security, identity and access management, compliance, and governance frameworks.
  • Proven experience managing service performance, incident management, operational excellence, and stakeholder communications.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Experience with Azure Databricks, Delta Lake, Azure Storage, Azure Monitor, Azure Networking, Azure Key Vault, Azure Policy, Azure RBAC, and Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Experience implementing Terraform or Infrastructure as Code solutions.
  • Experience with CI/CD, DevOps, DataOps, and MLOps practices.
  • Knowledge of AI platform governance, AI Gateway capabilities, responsible AI practices, and model operationalization.
  • Experience with data governance platforms such as Microsoft Purview, Atlan, Alation, or similar solutions.
  • Experience supporting highly regulated industries, including healthcare, pharmaceutical, or supply chain environments.
  • Industry certifications such as Microsoft Azure Administrator, Azure Security Engineer, Databricks Platform Administrator, or FinOps Practitioner.
  • Demonstrated success driving platform modernization, automation, and organizational transformation.

Base Pay Range

Our Base Pay Range for this position €68,600 - €114,400
