Senior Manager - Commercial (Energy Transition)

Drive the evaluation of identified new business opportunities with BESS supporting the growth of Apraava’ s portfolio

• Keep abreast of the developments concerning the renewables energy space with a focus on BESS opportunities and provide strategic inputs for business planning, conduct knowledge sharing sessions on new technologies and their relevant market developments
• Assist Sr. Vice President in developing the implementation plan with the integration of new energy systems such as BESS energy storage and other potential hybrid systems for presenting to the senior management at Apraava India
• Provide inputs to the Sr. Vice President for estimating the annual budget and resource requirements for the next financial year
• Ensure adherence to the plan preparing monthly reports and progress reports for various ongoing projects and report any deviations for suitable corrective actions
• Support Sr VP and Commercial Lead on the regulatory and policy advocacy matters with technical inputs

Support the Bidding Team with technical diligence and evaluation in the development of new projects

• Co-ordinate with the Bidding team to identify and shortlist the investable pipeline of project opportunities based on desktop analysis and preliminary techno-commercial assessments
• Comprehensive assessment of various auctions / tender opportunities including review of tenders, raising pre-bid queries, participation in bid clarification meeting with tendering agency, site visits for feasibility assessments etc in BESS (including hybrid projects),
• Sizing an optimised project capacity for standalone and hybrid/ RTC projects. Estimation of power losses form DC block to point of interconnection and estimation of Auxiliary consumption.
• Energy modelling using tools for finalizing the configuration – RE capacity and storage capacity. Competency in advanced excel, Python or advance modelling tools such as Plexos etc for optimal sizing of Solar+ BESS and FDRE/RTC projects
• Support Bid Lead in developing the slide packs for Advance Notice and FID presentations to be made to IEX and Investment Committee
• Support Bid Lead in preparing tender documentation
• Lead and co-ordinate with various cross-functions within Apraava on various technical aspects of project, including but not limited to developing major equipment specifications and drawings, site surveys with technical analysis, grid connection status analysis, etc. Knowledge of various national and international codes and standards applicable to the BESSand Hybrid and the statutory compliance requirements.
• Evaluate techno-commercial offers from OEMs and EPC contractors, prepare comparative analysis and provide necessary inputs for a LCOE comparison.
• Engage with 3rd party consultants for technology or project specific evaluations as per the requirements.
• Ensure timely delivery of techno-commercial due diligence reports and other proposal documents adhering to the project timelines as detailed by the Bid Lead
• Develop, review, discuss and finalize comprehensive assumption data book for the given investment opportunity; provide clarifications to various stakeholders / shareholders on various assumptions during the investment review process
• Understanding of financial and commercial terms affecting project returns.
• Support securing the development permits and licenses (as applicable) from relevant government authorities and regulators

Support Project Execution

• Negotiate the technical specifications with the OEMs.
• Support the Commercial team in evaluating offers and finalizing the contracts with the OEM
• Work closely with the Engineering and Construction teams in coordination with BESS OEM/EPC contractors for smooth execution of the project
