Senior Manager (Construction) (3-year Contract)
The Job
- Implement HKHS policies and procedures for geotechnical, ground investigation (G.I.) and foundation work as well as maintain accurate site progress and quality records.
- Ensure contractors’ compliance with quality standards via the HKHS Integrated Quality System, including review of quality assurance documentation and supervision of tests and measurements.
- Monitor site progress, identify delays, technical discrepancies and geological anomalies and take timely corrective action.
- Coordinate site teams to resolve technical, scheduling and resourcing issues, report and liaise with Project Managers, consultants and contractors for solutions.
- Maintain effective communication with consultants, contractors, utility companies and government authorities.
- Endorse selection and performance of contract site staff.
- Oversee works handover, defect rectification and complaint follow‑up.
- Ensure compliance with site safety and environmental requirements.
The Person
- Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil or Building Engineering or construction-related disciplines with professional qualifications such as MHKIE, MCIOB, MHKICM or equivalent.
- Minimum 15 years’ construction management experience, including at least 5 years’ managerial experience in geotechnical, G.I. and foundation works.
- Proven experience in geotechnical/construction or project management with relevant exposure in residential projects (private/public sector); preferably completed at least three projects from G.I. foundation design to on-site foundation construction and handover.
- Strong knowledge of Hong Kong Buildings Ordinance, relevant Codes of Practice and geotechnical standards.
- Solid expertise in geotechnical engineering, ground investigation and foundation construction methods.
- Good command of English and Cantonese with computer literate.
