Senior Manager Contract Management
Job Overview:
Typically manages multiple Contracts Management delivery at the large EPC / EPCI level. Has accountability for the Contracts Management and Claims Success of allocated Contracts at the large projects level. Develops and maintains a positive relationship with internal functions and clients All levels of Contracts Specialist and administrators.
Key Task and Responsibilities:
- Departmental improvement initiatives delivery
- Provide manpower and bid forecasts to Business Line Management as necessary
- Manage the relationships with all Contracts Management Stakeholders including:
- Project Management
- Engineering
- Procurement
- Subcontracts
- Fabrication
- Construction
- Marine Installation
- Hook Up and Commissioning
- Consortium or JV Partner
- QHSE
- Legal
- Finance
- Business Line Management
- EXCOM
- Customer/Client
- Contribute to the Annual Business Line budget
- Contribute to Department goals and strategy
- Contribute to General improvement of department and systems
- Contract negotiations with customers/clients
- Coordinate with Contracts Director/Senior Contracts Director on workloads and resources
- Ensure Contracts & Senior Contracts Specialists coordinate appropriate activities
- Own and lead the implementation, enforcement, and verification of compliance with all McDermott policies and procedures
- Ensure employees understand their responsibility and authority to effectively implement the requirements of all McDermott policies and procedures
- Ensure the timely completion of all mandatory training by themselves and their teams
Essential Qualification and Education:
- Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline such as Engineering, legal, Commercial, or Quantity Surveying and 10 years of Contracts Management experience in addition to other functional experience with at least 5 years of management experience
- Proven experience in contract management within the Engineering Procurement Construction and Installation (EPC/EPCI) industry, in the areas of Energy Transition, Onshore, or Offshore or Subsea and Floating Facilities (FPSO/FPU)
- In-depth knowledge of EPC/EPCI project lifecycles, including design, procurement, construction, and installation phases
- Can build rapport with and gain respect from employees with varied experience and background
- Familiarity with industry-specific terminologies, contracts, and standards
- Strong negotiation skills with a focus on achieving mutually beneficial outcomes
- Ability to analyze complex contract requirements and identify potential risks
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders
- Proficient in using contract management software and MS Office Suite
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and meet tight deadlines
