About the role:
The Senior Manager – Advocacy & Policy will anchor policy and advocacy efforts from an education lens, focusing on FLN, ECCE, and multilingual education. Supported by top philanthropic partners, the role serves as a key strategic node connecting policy advocacy, ecosystem engagement, and network strengthening while driving national convenings (events, symposiums, and conferences).
Key responsibilities:
- Policy Advocacy & Strategy:
- Develop policy briefs, concept notes, and position papers focused on FLN, ECCE, and multilingual education.
- Analyse national and state policies to identify opportunities for integrating multilingual learning approaches.
- Formulate and execute strategic advocacy roadmaps aligned with network priorities.
- Network Strengthening:
- Work closely with strategic partners, donor organizations, and steering committee members.
- Facilitate collaboration among network members to drive collective advocacy initiatives.
- Support the expansion and deepening of national partnerships across institutions.
- Government & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build and maintain relationships with senior officials in the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Women & Child Development, and State Education Departments.
- Represent the organization and network in policy dialogues, consultations, and working groups.
- Knowledge Convenings & Events:
- Plan and facilitate network events, including webinars, roundtables, national symposiums, and conferences.
- Curate convenings that promote knowledge sharing and collective action on early learning.
- Evidence Synthesis & Communications:
- Synthesize research findings and policy insights into actionable advocacy outputs and thought leadership pieces.
- Disseminate advocacy messages through media, digital platforms, and policy channels to elevate the issue in public discourse.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Postgraduate degree in Public Policy, Education, International Development, Linguistics, or a related field. An overseas postgraduate qualification is desirable given the global perspective required.
- Experience: 8–12 years of experience in education policy, advocacy, or ecosystem building.
- Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of FLN, ECCE, and multilingual education landscape in India.
- Network & Convening: Demonstrated experience working with coalitions, multi-stakeholder platforms, and organizing national-level dialogues/events.
- Government Liaison: Established professional networks across government ministries, academia, and development sector actors.
- Key Skills: Excellent analytical, policy writing, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
