Senior Manager, Fire and Workplace Safety (GOVT Healthcare)
Job Scope:
Fire Safety
- Develop, implement, and oversee the hospital's Fire Safety Management Plan.
- Review building and infrastructure designs to ensure compliance with SCDF Fire Code requirements, including fire compartmentation, smoke control, evacuation routes, fire detection, and suppression systems.
- Work with consultants, contractors, and regulatory authorities throughout project planning and design reviews.
- Develop and implement fire safety policies, procedures, and training programmes.
- Coordinate and oversee fire drills, emergency exercises, and fire safety awareness initiatives.
Workplace Safety
- Support the development of a safe working environment by ensuring compliance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) requirements.
- Review infrastructure and operational layouts for high-risk areas to identify and mitigate workplace safety risks.
- Provide recommendations on ergonomic design, ventilation, manual handling, and hazard prevention measures.
- Ensure appropriate safety signage, barriers, and fall prevention measures are incorporated into facility design and operations.
- Develop and implement workplace safety policies and procedures aligned with applicable regulations and organisational requirements.
Emergency Preparedness
- Support the development and implementation of hospital emergency preparedness strategies, policies, and training programmes.
- Review infrastructure plans to ensure emergency response capabilities, including evacuation routes, command centres, backup systems, and communication networks.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to support emergency readiness planning and resilience initiatives.
- Assist in the development, testing, and continuous improvement of the hospital's Emergency Response Plan.
Regulatory Compliance & Stakeholder Management
- Liaise with relevant regulatory agencies and stakeholders on matters relating to fire safety, workplace safety, and emergency preparedness.
- Support regulatory compliance, licensing, and commissioning activities through proper documentation and coordination.
- Monitor regulatory developments and recommend improvements to maintain compliance and operational readiness.
Requirements:
- Min Bachelor's Degree in any discipline.
- SCDF-registered Fire Safety Manager certification.
- MOM-registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer certification is preferred.
- Min 8 years of relevant experience in fire safety, workplace safety, emergency preparedness, or facilities management, preferably within a healthcare environment.
