Senior Manager Global Manufacturing Engineering & Footprint Industrial (m/f/d)

Your Role:

In your role as Senior Manager Global Manufacturing Engineering and Footprint, Industrial Filtration, you will be responsible for global manufacturing engineering, the development and maintenance of core manufacturing competencies, production technology and process standardization, the introduction of new technologies, as well as the management of sites and production networks within Industrial Filtration. In this position, you will report to the Vice President Global Operations Project Management, Strategy & Digitalization Transportation.

Your Challenge:

  • Global coordination of the design of production processes, equipment, and CAPEX, taking into account industrial requirements (flexibility, low automation, short setup times, low investment).
  • Lead the definition of the production footprint, regional localization activities, and global capacity strategy, including site selection.
  • Identify core manufacturing competencies and processes to implement the business strategy and support the manufacturing structure.
  • Develop global, cost-efficient standards for manufacturing systems by leveraging a network of process experts (LEAD Team).
  • Provide global functional leadership for Industrial Manufacturing Engineering representatives in regions and plants within a matrix organization.
  • Evaluate new manufacturing technologies, analyze their maturity level, and lead the cost-benefit assessment for implementation.
  • Collaborate with R&D and Quality Assurance to ensure design- and quality-compliant solutions.
  • Prepare and lead business cases on industrial topics and provide decision-making foundations for senior executives.
  • Promote global exchange of best practices, coordinate global resources, establish and monitor KPIs, and ensure robust governance practices to maintain compliance and operational excellence.

Your Profile:

  • Education: Successfully completed degree with a focus on production or manufacturing engineering.
  • Professional Experience: At least 10 years of experience in Operations, including 5–7 years in a leadership role within manufacturing engineering, with proven experience in managing cross functional projects and working in multicultural environments; international experience is desirable.
  • Expertise:
    • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing engineering, site and production network management (footprint management), as well as budget, cost, and financial management.
    • Experience in quality management, equipment maintenance, engineering technologies, and environmental, health, and safety (EHS).
    • Demonstrated expertise in continuous improvement and operational excellence using methods such as Lean, Pull Flow, Six Sigma, TQM, Kaizen, and self-directed teams.
    • Extensive experience with Mann+Hummel products and production technologies, leading cross-functional projects and multicultural teams.
    • Experience with SAP; international exposure and leadership skills in team development are advantageous.
  • Language Skills: Excellent English and at least good German skills, both written and spoken.

    • High flexibility and confidence in handling changing requirements and competing priorities.
    • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience collaborating with senior leadership.

    • High level of initiative, openness to new ideas, and the ability to assess risks thoughtfully.
