Work Environment
This is a field-based role with travel averaging up to 75%. Remote work is supported when not onsite. Candidates should reside within reasonable proximity to a commercial airport to support travel requirements.

What You'll Get to Do
Echo Power is seeking a Senior Manager, HV Technical Services to lead our High Voltage Testing, Protection, and Commissioning operations. This role combines deep technical expertise with project and people leadership, driving successful execution of substation and power generation projects while supporting team development, client satisfaction, and business growth.
As a senior leader within the organization, you will oversee field operations, relay testing programs, commissioning activities, project performance, and client relationships while helping shape the strategic growth of our HV Technical Services practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, schedule, and develop relay technicians and field team members.
- Lead testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and commissioning of protective relays, control systems, substations, and power generation facilities.
- Review relay settings, protection schemes, wiring diagrams, and control logic to support reliable, compliant system performance.
- Develop commissioning plans, testing procedures, and field documentation for project execution.
- Provide technical oversight for relay protection, controls, system upgrades, design reviews, and troubleshooting support.
- Oversee project scope, schedules, budgets, billing, client deliverables, and overall field execution.
- Coordinate field activities to ensure work is completed safely, on time, within scope, and to company and customer standards.
- Manage performance development, resource planning, and team readiness to support current and future project needs.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through clear communication, technical credibility, and responsive service.
- Support proposal development, estimating, technical reviews, and identification of growth opportunities with existing and prospective customers.
What You Bring
- Strong knowledge of substation and power plant protection systems, relay schemes, transformers, metering, controls, and SCADA systems.
- Experience commissioning utility, industrial, or power generation facilities.
- Proficiency with relay testing equipment such as Omicron, Doble, and Megger.
- Strong troubleshooting, leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and field teams simultaneously.
- Understanding of LV power systems, ATS/MTS systems, and communication networks preferred.
- Experience with SEL relays, PLCs, excitation systems, and advanced protection schemes preferred.
- NETA or NICET Level III certification (or equivalent) preferred.
Education & Experience Requirements
- High school diploma required; Associate’s degree or technical certification preferred.
- 10+ years of relay testing and commissioning experience.
- Previous supervisory or field leadership experience required
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $143,860 – $191,042 annually (based on education and experience)
