Senior Manager, Indirect Sourcing

Job Summary:


The Senior Manager, Indirect Commodity Management leads Mercury’s Indirect Procurement function, overseeing strategic sourcing and category management for all non-production goods and services. This role is responsible for developing multi-year category strategies, driving cost optimization, shaping supplier partnerships, and guiding a team of three procurement professionals to achieve Mercury’s business and operational objectives. The position is based at our Hudson, NH facility.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop multi-year sourcing plans across major indirect categories, including IT, Facilities, MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations), Capital Equipment, Professional Services, and Travel.
  • Evaluate market trends and supplier capabilities to ensure Mercury’s indirect procurement strategies support business growth and operational efficiency.
  • Drive total cost of ownership (TCO) improvements through competitive bidding, strategic negotiations, and supplier consolidation initiatives.
  • Deliver measurable year-over-year cost savings in alignment with company financial goals.
  • Build and manage strategic vendor relationships to ensure quality, delivery performance, and service excellence.
  • Monitor supplier KPIs, lead business reviews, and proactively manage risks and performance issues within the indirect supply base.
  • Lead and mentor a team of three indirect procurement professionals, providing daily prioritization, coaching, and support.
  • Guide sourcing initiatives, foster collaboration across cross-functional partners, and support ongoing professional development for team members.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Typically requires 10+ years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or commodity management
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, whether through formal people management or leading cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical capabilities, including data-driven decision-making and cost analysis.
  • Advanced negotiation and contract management expertise.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and procurement tools.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and project leadership skills.
  • This position requires you to access information that is subject to U.S. export regulations. You may only access such information if you are a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. government.”

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in aerospace, defense, or high-tech manufacturing environments.
  • Certification in supply chain or procurement (such as CPM, CPSM, CSCP, or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with government contracting requirements or FAR/DFARS compliance.
  • Experience building or transforming procurement processes, tools, or category management frameworks.
  • Demonstrated success managing indirect categories in a multi-site or matrixed organization.
  • Advanced proficiency with analytics tools or procurement platforms (e.g., Coupa, SAP, Oracle).
  • Strong change management and stakeholder engagement skills.
