Job Overview

To establish, strengthen, and sustain the Digital Bank’s IT governance framework by ensuring alignment of IT strategy with business objectives, regulatory compliance with SBP ETGRS and relevant regulations, effective technology risk management, and robust implementation of IT policies, frameworks, controls, and governance practices across the technology landscape.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and continuously improve IT governance frameworks aligned with SBP ETGRS, COBIT, ITIL, ISO 27001/22301, and digital banking best practices.
  • Lead interpretation, implementation, and continuous compliance with SBP ETGRS, PSD regulations, relevant circulars, audit requirements, and regulatory expectations.
  • Develop, review, maintain, communicate, and monitor implementation of IT policies, standards, procedures, controls, and governance practices across areas including technology risk, information security, data protection, change, release, configuration, third-party, and cloud risk.
  • Partner with the Head IT PMO & Governance to define portfolio and project governance standards, embed regulatory and risk controls in IT delivery, and review major technology initiatives for compliance, risk, and architectural alignment.
  • Identify, assess, monitor, and report IT and cyber risks in line with the bank’s risk appetite; maintain IT risk registers, KRIs, dashboards, remediation plans, and senior management reporting.
  • Collaborate with CTO, senior IT leadership, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Information Security, Internal Audit, business teams, digital product teams, external auditors, consultants, and regulators.
  • Develop governance dashboards, MIS, committee packs, compliance evidence, and insights on IT compliance, control maturity, technology risk posture, regulatory findings, remediation status, and continuous improvement opportunities.


Experience Required

7–8 years of relevant experience in IT governance, technology risk, compliance, regulatory management, information security governance, or IT PMO within banks, digital banks, financial institutions, fintechs, or regulated environments; hands-on experience dealing with SBP inspections and regulatory requirements is required.


Educational Background Required

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. Master’s degree or professional certifications are preferred.


Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of SBP ETGRS, Pakistan banking technology regulations, PSD regulations, relevant circulars, regulatory inspection expectations, and technology governance requirements.
  • Experience with IT governance and control frameworks including COBIT, ITIL, ISO 27001, ISO 22301, technology risk management, control assessment, audit remediation, and GRC practices.
  • Strong understanding of digital banking technology environments, cloud, APIs, fintech integrations, cybersecurity, data governance, third-party risk, change management, and regulatory reporting.
  • Preferred certifications include COBIT, ITIL, CISA, CRISC, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor, ISO 22301, or equivalent technology governance, risk, compliance, or audit certifications.
