Senior Manager Materials Management

You will lead day-to-day materials-management operations across fulfillment, distribution, and storage centers supporting 24/7 operations. You will set operational strategy and goals, manage a multi-level workforce, improve safety and quality, optimize costs, oversee inventory storage and shelf life, and drive continuous improvement projects.

Responsibilities

• Support operational targets and objectives for fulfillment, distribution, and storage centers.
• Develop strategy, business metrics, and goals based on business processes and needs.
• Manage a multi-level organization across four shift patterns supporting 24/7 operations.
• Assess performance, provide feedback, resolve conflicts, and address repeat performance issues.
• Lead by example and motivate the organization to achieve results.
• Monitor and improve operations to maintain a safe work environment.
• Ensure storage practices meet quality requirements, including AS9100 and customer flow-down requirements.
• Manage operations that provide high levels of customer service.
• Lead cost-saving and optimization opportunities.
• Drive projects and changes that maintain distribution-center rates year over year.
• Monitor shelf-life storage and maintain FIFO stock rotation.
• Ensure appropriate environmental controls for stored materials.
• Manage storage of non-SpaceX part numbers across internal and external storage.
• Mentor and develop team members.
• Adapt operations to changing organizational needs.

Requirements

• Advanced degree and 4+ years of relevant experience; or bachelor's degree and 5+ years of relevant experience; or 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in material or production planning, purchasing, distribution, operations or supply chain management, material cost control, or master production scheduling.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical functions including standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying.
• Ability to work all shifts, extended hours, and weekends as needed.
• Ability to provide 24x7 on-call support in emergency situations.
• Ability to work onsite in Memphis, Tennessee.
• Ability to travel domestically up to 20% as needed.
