The Urban Renewal Authority (“URA”) is tasked to undertake, encourage, promote and facilitate urban renewal of Hong Kong in accordance with the provisions of the Urban Renewal Authority Ordinance and the Urban Renewal Strategy published by the Government. The URA adopts a comprehensive and holistic approach by ways of its two core businesses i.e. redevelopment and rehabilitation, as well as preservation, revitalisation and retrofitting, for creating a sustainable and quality living environment for the people of Hong Kong.

Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and drive an effective integrated media strategy to promote the Authority’s initiatives, uphold public trust, and enhance corporate reputation

  • Plan and supervise the execution of the publicity plan and manage media relations to solicit public support for the work of the URA

  • Prepare press releases, Q&A, media statements, key messages and speaking notes for media interviews and arrange press conference, to disseminate messages and information about the work of URA to the public

  • Spearhead the editorial strategy and oversee content creation across all media platforms to deliver compelling, high-impact brand narratives

  • Oversee the media enquiry desk, news and social media monitoring services and public enquiries/ complaints handling services to ensure the URA’s messages are effectively communicated and a positive image is projected

Requirements:

  • Degree holder in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations or related fields

  • Minimum 10 years’ relevant experience, with at least 4 years in supervisory role

  • Good knowledge of urban renewal or housing issues in Hong Kong

  • Well-developed understanding of local and online media landscape and possess strong network of academia and key opinion leaders

  • Extensive media network and proven track record in media relations management across print, broadcast, and digital channels Strong leadership, time and resources management skills

  • Proficiency in computer skills. Mastering generative AI tools is a definite advantage

  • Excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese
