Senior Manager, Public Affairs

Contract: Permanent
Salary: Up to £50,000 Sheffield and up to £70,000 London
Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week/flexible days and/or hours (Mon-Fri)


THE ROLE

In this role, you will support the design and delivery of the Bank’s public affairs strategy, helping to build trusted relationships across Westminster, the Devolved Administrations, think tanks, business groups, financial sector stakeholders and internal teams. You will translate complex policy, strategic priorities and performance information into clear, timely communications for senior audiences, while providing thoughtful political insight and advice on issues that matter to the Bank.

Working closely with the Senior Director, Public Affairs and colleagues across Strategy and Engagement, and teams across Investment, Banking and Local Growth, you will lead and coordinate briefing materials, stakeholder events, ministerial meetings, parliamentary activity and responses to government and parliamentary enquiries. You will also horizon scan political developments, identify emerging opportunities and risks, and help colleagues respond in a timely and considered way.

You will have experience in public affairs, government relations, policy or a related field, alongside sound political awareness and a good understanding of UK political processes. You will be able to demonstrate how you have influenced policy or stakeholder outcomes, managed a varied workload to deadlines, and translated complex information into clear messages for different audiences.
You will also bring an inclusive and collaborative working style, good judgement, strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to support and develop others within a team.
