Role Overview

The Senior Manager, Shared Services is the lead role for the entire shared services function at the Antino Gold Project, holding single-point accountability for all operational support functions at site. Its mandate is to provide the Drilling and Exploration teams with the services they need to operate safely, efficiently, and at optimal performance, in compliance with company standards and local regulations. The role oversees Logistics Support, Health & Safety, Camp Management, Site Services, and provides functional oversight of Site HR and Corporate Social Responsibility, Finance, and IT at site.

Position Responsibilities

  • Deliver the services the Drilling and Exploration teams require for safe and effective site operations.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and systems that improve efficiency, compliance, and service delivery across all support functions.
  • Oversee camp operations, including accommodation, catering, housekeeping, transportation, fleet management and employee welfare.
  • Coordinate workforce, including travel, mobilization, demobilization, and rotation schedules.
  • Procure, direct and coordinate all contractors related to operations services.
  • Support and coordinate logistics as they relate to site services.
  • Generate, control and maintain complete archive of all operations level records and documentation
  • Develop and implement cost effective remote exploration camp solutions.
  • Support corporate finance in the implementation of cost controls and operational procedures.
  • Manage site budgets and monitor expenditures to keep costs under control and within approved budget. Provide forward looking projections of operational costs and introduce programs for optimization and capital efficiency of all service-related subjects.
  • Collaborate with the Procurement function on the sourcing of goods and services and on contractor and vendor performance, recognizing that procurement accountability sits outside this role.
  • Partner with Corporate and Site HR on employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, workforce planning, and policy enforcement.
  • Promote a positive workplace culture and strong employee engagement at site.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies, standards, and legal requirements, and support incident investigations and the implementation of corrective actions.
  • Monitor environmental compliance and support sustainability initiatives, working closely with Corporate and Site ESG.
  • Build effective relationships with local stakeholders and communities, in close collaboration with Corporate and Site ESG.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development to site services personnel; prepare reports and KPIs for senior leadership; and identify operational risks with appropriate mitigation plans.

Reporting Relationships

The Senior Manager, Shared Services reports to the VP, Exploration as one of three peer department leads on site, alongside the Senior Manager, Drilling and the Senior Manager, Exploration. Shared Services does not report to the other two leads but serves both as an independent service provider. It is also the single point of coordination for all support functions — CSR, HR, H&S, IT, Finance, and others — so the VP oversees three senior managers rather than many individual function heads. All service requests from Operations or Exploration, whether direct or via the relevant Area Manager, are routed through Shared Services for coordination and reporting to the VP; this is a coordination role, not an approval gate on operating decisions.

  • Solid-line reports:
Manager, Health & Safety; Manager, Camp Management; and Manager, Site Services.
  • Dotted-line functional oversight:
Site HR, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Finance, and IT.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in mining, exploration, oil & gas, or remote-site operations.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and support services.
  • Previous experience in Latin America or other remote international operations preferred.
  • Experience managing contractors, budgets, and site administration activities, with a sound understanding of labour relations, HSE principles, and camp management.

Core Competencies

  • Strong leadership and people management capabilities.
  • Strong background in logistics coordination and procedure implementation
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Financial and commercial acumen.
  • Ability to work effectively in remote and multicultural environments.
  • High degree of adaptability, resilience, and decision-making capability.
  • Strong customer service orientation. The role is measured by the level of service provided to its internal clients and is assessed by the VP, Exploration on compliance with the corporate mandate, budget, and standards.

Languages

  • Fluent English required.
  • Spanish and/or Portuguese highly desirable.
  • Dutch considered an asset.

Location

This position is based at the Antino Gold Project in Suriname. Rotation is 5 days on / 2 days off for local candidates and 4 weeks on / 2 weeks off for South American expatriates, with potential travel to the corporate office and project-related events as required.
