Senior Manufacturing Engineer
Description
About Tactical Revolution
Tactical Revolution, LLC delivers mission-critical tactical equipment supporting U.S. military personnel, federal agencies, and law enforcement professionals. Our products, including ballistic protection systems, tactical gear, and load-bearing equipment, are built to perform in demanding environments. We are seeking a hands-on manufacturing leader to join the team during our growth who takes ownership of production, develops employees, maintains control of materials and inventory, and ensures work is completed correctly and on schedule.
Position Overview
The Senior Manufacturing Engineer leads TACREV's production team and manages the supply chain, inventory control, manufacturing documentation, production scheduling, and quality control. This position combines direct employee management, manufacturing engineering, and industrial engineering process improvement. You will supervise production employees and perform technical work yourself, including developing bills of materials (BOM) and work instructions, converting issued SolidWorks models into technical drawings, and applying geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) expertise. The position's priorities are:
- Management: Direct the production team.
- Manufacturing: Perform documentation, drawing, planning, inspection, and production.
- Supply Chain: Own purchasing, supplier coordination, receiving, acceptance, discrepancy resolution, and inventory control.
- Leadership: Develop employees, establish accountability, and build a capable, team-first operation.
Responsibilities
- Management. Manage the production team: Direct a manufacturing team, assigning daily tasks, establishing priorities, coordinating schedules, and maintaining expectations for productivity, quality, and deadlines. Plan and execute production: Develop daily and weekly production schedules based on staffing, material availability, equipment capabilities, and output commitments. Maintain readiness: Ensure equipment, materials, workspaces, and manufacturing documentation are ready for production. Communicate production status, challenges, and recommended solutions to Company leadership.
- Supply Chain. Manage suppliers and purchasing: Oversee suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors, including obtaining and evaluating quotations, placing purchase orders, monitoring deliveries, and ensuring compliance with specifications, pricing, and schedules. Control quality: Inspect incoming materials and components, verify specifications, document discrepancies, and coordinate rejections, disputes, returns, replacements, and corrective actions. Establish and maintain inventory: Implement accurate inventory tracking for raw materials, work in process, subassemblies, assemblies, and finished goods. Manage receiving, storage, issuing, reconciliation, and replenishment to prevent shortages and interruptions.
- Manufacturing. Develop manufacturing documentation: Create and maintain BOMs, fabrication work orders, work instructions, assembly instructions, shipping and handling procedures, and standardized production procedures. Produce technical drawings: Convert issued SolidWorks models into accurate manufacturing and shop drawings, applying GD&T expertise and maintaining proper revision control. Oversee quality: Conduct incoming, in-process, and final quality-control inspections. Manage nonconforming products, rejections, rework, corrective actions, and acceptance procedures. Manage execution: Coordinate production scheduling, first-article inspections, prototype manufacturing, and subcontracted activities. Drive continuous improvement: Evaluate workflows, labor efficiency, material utilization, equipment capabilities, and production bottlenecks. Implement improvements that increase productivity, reduce waste, and maintain quality without changing approved product designs.
- Leadership. Develop and strengthen the team: Train, coach, and cross-train employees while establishing clear performance expectations, quality standards, and individual accountability. Lead daily production meetings: Review staffing, material availability, work assignments, production targets, completed output, quality issues, and outstanding priorities. Enforce standards: Conduct routine inspections of employees' work, address performance concerns directly, and ensure adherence to approved manufacturing procedures. Build a team-first culture: Lead by example through discipline, professionalism, clear communication, shared accountability, and continuous improvement. Encourage employee input while maintaining responsibility for decisions, execution, and results.
There are no subordinate engineers. This is a working-manager position requiring supervision, supplier coordination, inventory management, and technical tasks. This is not a product design or research and development position. You will manufacture from issued designs and improve how the work is performed.
