Job Description

Job Title: Senior Marketing Analytics Specialist

Location: Corporate, Media PA

Department: Data & Analytics

Job Summary: The Senior Marketing Analytics Specialist is responsible for delivering trusted, repeatable, and decision-ready analytics that support enterprise and functional business priorities. This role serves as a senior individual contributor focused on insight generation: explaining why it happened, what factors are driving performance, and where measurement or predictive analysis can improve business understanding. This role owns analytical rigor, methodology, data quality, accuracy, and credibility for assigned work while partnering with embedded analytics teams, business stakeholders, Planning & Analysis, Data Governance, Data Engineering, and Technology. The role provides trusted facts, insights, and models that help business and P&A partners convert insights into decisions, forecasts, plans, and actions while maintaining clear accountability between insight generation, decision enablement, and execution.

Principal Duties:

  • Apply standard analytics approaches, methodologies, and skill sets to the organization’s highest-impact and most complex business domains, ensuring work is consistent, trusted, repeatable, and aligned to enterprise analytics standards.
  • Develop deep understanding of assigned business domain priorities, operating models, decision processes, data needs, performance drivers, and pain points in order to become a trusted analytics partner.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to clarify goals, frame complex business problems, identify analytical opportunities, and determine how analytics can improve decisions, outcomes, and execution.
  • Explain what happened and why by identifying performance drivers, customer or operational behavior changes, root causes, trends, patterns, relationships, and business implications.
  • Translate business questions into analytical approaches, statistical or predictive models, confidence measures, and actionable insights that help stakeholders achieve goals and solve complex problems.
  • Quantify business impact, validate data quality, assess analytical confidence, and communicate the credibility, assumptions, limitations, and recommended use of analytical findings.
  • Work with common enterprise analytics tools, data platforms, reporting solutions, and development practices to promote consistency across certified analytics delivery and embedded analytics teams.
  • Partner with Planning & Analysis, business leaders, and functional teams to maintain clear role boundaries and handoffs: Certified Analytics provides trusted facts, insight, measurement, and models; business and P&A partners convert those insights into decisions, forecasts, plans, and execution.
  • Stay educated on emerging analytics technologies, tools, methods, and industry practices; assess how new capabilities may improve analytical quality, speed, automation, adoption, or business impact.
  • Lead more junior analysts through new methodologies, analytical approaches, tool usage, documentation practices, quality standards, and business problem-solving techniques.
  • Support the analytics governance model and community of practice by contributing to standards review, methodology guidance, certification expectations, issue resolution, reusable asset development, and knowledge sharing.
  • Promote a data-driven culture by helping business partners understand, access, and apply certified analytics in day-to-day decisions while reinforcing the distinction between insight generation, decision enablement, and outcome ownership.

Essential Functions:

  • Strong ability to apply analytics standards, delivery methods, governance practices, and reusable frameworks to complex business problems.
  • Ability to independently lead complex analysis, statistical modeling, predictive modeling, and business intelligence work while coordinating with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Ability to explain what happened and why by identifying drivers, quantifying impact, validating findings, and translating analytical results into trusted insights and clear business implications.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, validate results, communicate assumptions and limitations, and present findings clearly to business audiences.
  • Ability to maintain clear accountability and productive handoffs with Planning & Analysis, business leaders, and embedded teams so analytics remains focused on trusted facts, insight generation, measurement, and analytical credibility.
  • Self-direction, resourcefulness, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where priorities, business questions, and opportunities change quickly.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Business, Information Systems, Finance, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum five years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, reporting, data strategy, data governance, or related analytical function.
  • Experience leading complex analytics projects, partnering with business stakeholders, gathering requirements, validating results, and translating insights into recommendations.
  • Retail, convenience, foodservice, consumer products, finance, merchandising, operations, marketing, or customer analytics experience preferred.
  • Experience contributing to analytics learning programs, analyst certification paths, dashboard standards, data literacy programs, or communities of practice preferred.
  • Knowledge of modern analytics operating models, embedded analytics teams, governed self-service analytics, data governance, certified reporting, and enterprise KPI management preferred.
