Senior Master Craftsman (Filigree, Gem-Setting & Chasing)

Job Description

We are a Singapore-based jewellery retail and bespoke goldsmithing business specialising in the fusion of traditional gold-working craftsmanship with contemporary design. We are looking for an experienced master craftsman to lead our workshop’s specialist product line and mentor our local team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the filigree process (wire-drawing, wire-filling and wire-stacking) to produce high-complexity gold components true to design specifications

• Oversee the full gem-setting workflow, including prong-, bezel- and pavé-setting techniques

• Execute chasing and repoussé work, including relief and surface engraving

• Establish and enforce workshop-wide craftsmanship and quality-control standards

• Mentor and train local apprentices, developing a structured skills-transfer programme

• Advise the design team on technical feasibility of new product lines and lead prototyping

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on training and practice in traditional gold-working techniques

• Demonstrated proficiency across filigree, gem-setting and chasing, with the ability to independently complete high-complexity bespoke commissions

• Relevant craftsman-level professional certification and a verifiable portfolio of completed works

• Strong technical drawing comprehension and ability to translate design concepts into finished pieces

• Good communication skills, able to guide and train junior apprentices
