Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (Data Center)

Our client is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to support the design, coordination, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems for their Data Centre projects. The successful candidate will independently manage mechanical design deliverables, coordinate with project stakeholders, and ensure successful project execution from design through commissioning and handover.

Job Responsibilities

Develop, review and coordinate mechanical designs for Data Centre facilities, including HVAC, chilled water, cooling infrastructure, fire protection systems and associated mechanical services.

Review engineering drawings, calculations, equipment selections, technical submissions and shop drawings to ensure compliance with project requirements, industry standards and local regulations.

Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers and authorities to resolve design and technical issues throughout the project lifecycle.

Support testing, commissioning and integrated systems testing activities, ensuring mechanical systems perform in accordance with design intent and project specifications.

Maintain project documentation including design reports, RFIs, inspection records, test reports, as-built drawings and handover documentation.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.

Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design, building services engineering or Data Centre projects.

Experience in HVAC, chilled water systems, fire protection systems and mechanical services design and coordination.

Good understanding of UBBL, BOMBA requirements, Malaysian Standards and Data Centre design practices.

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to independently manage project responsibilities
