Senior Mechanical Engineer – Data Centre Project

Location: Denmark
Work model: On-site

Your responsibilities

As Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will coordinate the mechanical engineering activities on a large-scale Data Centre project—from technical design and procurement through installation, quality control and commissioning.

Your responsibilities will include:

• reviewing project specifications, drawings and design documentation;
• coordinating mechanical design with electrical, sprinkler, structural and architectural packages;
• preparing and reviewing coordinated installation drawings;
• attending project handover and technical coordination meetings;
• identifying value-engineering and cost-saving opportunities;
• preparing and assessing technical submittals;
• raising and tracking RFIs with the design team;
• supporting the preparation of weekly progress reports;
• processing requisitions and supporting the preparation of purchase orders;
• verifying equipment and materials delivered to site;
• coordinating contractors, subcontractors and internal project teams;
• preparing method statements and risk assessments;
• supervising and assessing subcontractor works;
• carrying out inspections, system walkdowns and snagging;
• checking P&IDs and layout drawings against completed installations;
• preparing and maintaining test packs;
• supporting commissioning and project handover;
• maintaining accurate technical and project documentation;
• mentoring junior engineers and graduates.

Requirements

We are looking for candidates who have:

• a degree in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent senior trade qualification;
• at least 5 years of project engineering experience with a mechanical contractor;
• experience delivering mechanical packages on Data Centre, pharmaceutical, industrial or commercial projects;
• strong knowledge of mechanical systems, technical drawings and P&IDs;
• experience developing and reviewing technical submittals;
• the ability to inspect mechanical installations and assess compliance with project specifications;
• experience coordinating multidisciplinary design and installation packages;
• good commercial awareness, including variations, take-offs and project cost considerations;
• knowledge of HSE and quality management systems;
• strong planning, organisational and problem-solving skills;
• the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment;
• excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills;
• good command of English;
• legal eligibility to work in Denmark.

Previous experience delivering mechanical systems on a hyperscale Data Centre project will be a significant advantage.
