Flame Employment Polska is recruiting an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a major international Data Centre project in Germany.

This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanical engineering professional with experience in large-scale construction, MEP, industrial, pharmaceutical or Data Centre projects. The successful candidate will coordinate mechanical engineering activities from technical design through installation, testing and commissioning.

Your responsibilities

• Coordinating mechanical engineering activities on the project.
• Reviewing mechanical drawings, specifications and design documentation.
• Coordinating technical design with on-site installation teams, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Preparing and reviewing coordinated installation drawings.
• Identifying value engineering and cost-saving opportunities.
• Preparing and managing technical submittals and RFIs.
• Supporting procurement and generating material and equipment requisitions.
• Verifying mechanical equipment and materials delivered to site.
• Attending technical, design and project coordination meetings.
• Coordinating and assessing the work of mechanical subcontractors.
• Preparing method statements and risk assessments.
• Carrying out mechanical system walk-downs, inspections and quality checks.
• Reviewing P&IDs and installation drawings for compliance with project requirements.
• Preparing and tracking test packs, snag lists and handover documentation.
• Supporting commissioning and project completion activities.
• Preparing progress reports and maintaining accurate project documentation.
• Mentoring junior engineers and graduates.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline, or an equivalent senior trade qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of project engineering experience with a mechanical contractor.
• Experience delivering mechanical packages on Data Centre, industrial, pharmaceutical or large commercial projects.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, drawings, specifications and P&IDs.
• Experience preparing technical submittals, design reviews and technical assessments.
• Ability to carry out mechanical system walk-downs and verify compliance with project specifications.
• Good understanding of procurement, project costs, variations and commercial processes.
• Knowledge of HSE, quality control and construction procedures.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lead, influence and support other members of the engineering team.
• Good English language skills.
• EU citizenship or an unrestricted EU right to work preferred.
