Senior Mechanical Engineer - Maintenance
Description
Eram Talent is seeking an experienced Sr. Mechanical Engineer to join a leading organization in Saudi Arabia. We are seeking a seasoned senior mechanical engineer to join our Utility Department at Sadara. This role is critical to the plant’s stability, focusing on the mechanical integrity, maintenance, and reliability of world-scale utility assets. You will be the go-to technical expert for troubleshooting complex equipment failures and optimizing the lifecycle of systems that power our entire petrochemical complex.
Responsibilities
- Lead maintenance execution: Oversee the preventive and corrective maintenance of utility assets, including high-pressure boilers, steam turbines, and large-scale pumping systems.
- Advanced root cause analysis (RCA): Lead formal RCA investigations for mechanical failures, utilizing methodologies like 5-Why or Fishbone to eliminate recurring "bad actors."
- Reliability optimization: Implement reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) strategies to improve mean time between failures (MTBF) for rotating and static equipment.
- Steam & water system integrity: Ensure the mechanical reliability of steam headers, demineralized water plants, and cooling water networks.
- Turnaround & shutdown management: Define the mechanical scope for major plant turnarounds (TA) and supervise the overhaul of critical utility machinery.
- Contractor supervision: Manage third-party maintenance contractors, ensuring all work meets strict petrochemical safety and quality standards.
- Asset health monitoring: Analyze vibration reports, oil analysis, and thermography data to predict failures before they occur.
- Technical compliance: Ensure all mechanical repairs and modifications comply with international codes, specifically API 610/617, ASME B31.3, and ASME Section VIII.
- SAP-PM management: Oversee the lifecycle of work orders within SAP, ensuring accurate data capture for maintenance history and spare parts inventory.
- Safety leadership: Drive a "Zero Harm" culture by conducting job safety assessments (JSA) and ensuring all maintenance activities follow process safety management (PSM) protocols.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure alignment and project success.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
- Industry experience: 10+ years of maintenance engineering experience specifically within a petrochemical plant or oil refinery.
- Utility expertise: Proven track record maintaining utility-specific equipment (boilers, RO plants, steam turbines, and air compressors).
- RCA mastery: Demonstrated experience leading root cause analysis and implementing technical solutions in a high-pressure environment.
- Software skills: Proficiency in SAP (Plant Maintenance module) and engineering design software (AutoCAD).
- Standards knowledge: Deep familiarity with API and ASME codes relevant to refinery utilities.
- Communication: Fluent in English with the ability to present technical reliability reports to plant leadership.
