Senior Mechanical Quantity Surveyor

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of mechanical packages on a large-scale Data Centre project in Germany.

The successful candidate will be responsible for cost control, budgets, BOQs, subcontractor accounts, valuations, variations, commercial reporting, final accounts and supporting the project team in protecting project margin and commercial performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial aspects of mechanical packages on site.

• Prepare and manage budgets, BOQs, cost reports and profit plans.

• Support cost control, forecasting and commercial reporting.

• Manage subcontractor accounts, interim valuations and final accounts.

• Prepare and review payment applications, certificates and retentions.

• Track variations, remeasures, dayworks and site changes.

• Support preparation and agreement of interitim and final accounts.

• Identify commercial risks and escalate them to the project team.

• Work closely with Project Managers, Commercial Managers and site teams.

• Attend commercial meetings with internal teams and subcontractors.

• Support procurement, subcontractor agreements and commercial documentation.

• Maintain accurate records of costs, changes, claims and project documentation.

• Ensure commercial processes are aligned with contract and project requirements.

Requirements

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering, Commercial Management or similar.

• Previous experience as a Mechanical Quantity Surveyor, Senior Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Surveyor.

• Experience on Data Centre, industrial, pharmaceutical, commercial or large-scale construction projects.

• Strong understanding of mechanical packages, building services or MEP works.

• Experience managing subcontractor accounts, valuations, variations and final accounts.

• Good knowledge of BOQs, cost control, remeasurement, claims and commercial reporting.

• Ability to work closely with project, engineering, procurement and site teams.

• Strong contractual awareness and attention to detail.

• Good negotiation, communication and organisational skills.

• Strong Excel and reporting skills.

• Good command of English.

• Willingness to work on site in Germany.

• Due to legal and work authorisation requirements, EU citizenship or an EU passport is required.
