Senior Media Relations Manager

Media Strategy & Planning

  • Collaborate with clients to articulate their capital market narrative and brand positioning, and develop tailored media communication strategies and proposals aligned with their business background, listing stage, and campaign objectives
  • Identify differentiated communication angles based on industry dynamics and media preferences, helping clientsestablish clear market recognition at key IPO milestones
  • Participate in client meetings and pitches, presenting communication strategies with clarity, addressing client queries, and driving proposal conversion
  • Manage ongoing media retainer services for listed companies, developing annual communication plans and campaign-specific proposals around earnings releases, corporate announcements, and industry events to sustain consistent, positive capital market presence

Project Delivery

  • Write and review a range of communication materials including press releases, media Q&As, and corporate content, ensuring accuracy and alignment with client messaging
  • Support crisis and reputation management by assessing media sentiment, developing response messaging and communication recommendations, and coordinating media outreach to contain negative coverage
  • Prepare post-campaign reports consolidating media coverage data, performance metrics, and execution reviews to build reusable project documentation

Media Relations

  • Maintain ongoing engagement with domestic and international media contacts outside of active project cycles through information sharing, in-person meetings, and regular touchpoints to support effective collaboration during project periods
  • Monitor industry trends and media reporting patterns; regularly audit and maintain an up-to-date media database

Requirements

Requirements

  • ≥5 years of experience in financial PR; background in in-house IR/PR or financial communications agency preferred
  • Solid understanding of mainland China or Hong Kong financial media landscape; familiarity with both and established media contacts a strong plus
  • Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to independently produce and review financial communications materials including press releases and media briefs
  • Clear communicator with strong client management and project coordination capabilities
  • Knowledge of Hong Kong Stock Exchange listing rules and the HK capital markets ecosystem preferred
  • Detail-oriented, highly accountable, and able to maintain quality output across multiple concurrent projects under pressure
  • Bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Journalism & Communications, Economics, or a related field
  • Fluency in written and spoken English or Cantonese; experience in overseas / international media communications
