Senior MES Consultant
Summary
Designs and implements Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and industrial digital transformation solutions using AVEVA software, bridging IT and OT for manufacturing clients.
The Senior MES Consultant is responsible for designing,
implementing, and supporting Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and
Industrial Digital Transformation solutions for customers across various
industries. The role combines solution architecture, technical consulting,
customer engagement, and project delivery to provide scalable, secure, and
high-performing industrial solutions.
As a subject matter expert, you will work closely with
customers, sales teams, project managers, and technical consultants to
architect and deploy AVEVA-based solutions that bridge Information Technology
(IT) and Operational Technology (OT). You will also support pre-sales
activities, lead technical workshops, and provide strategic guidance throughout
the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Architecture & Design
- Design
scalable, secure, and high-performance industrial solutions using the
AVEVA software portfolio.
- Develop
solution architectures, technical designs, deployment plans, and
implementation roadmaps.
- Define
integration strategies between MES, ERP, SCADA, historians, cloud
platforms, and enterprise systems.
- Produce
architecture diagrams, technical documentation, and implementation
standards.
- Ensure
solutions align with cybersecurity best practices and industry standards.
MES Consulting & Solution Delivery
- Lead
the implementation, configuration, and optimization of Manufacturing
Execution Systems (MES).
- Configure
and deploy AVEVA MES and related industrial software solutions.
- Support
customer digital transformation initiatives through best-practice solution
design.
- Conduct
system assessments and recommend process improvements.
- Troubleshoot
complex technical issues and provide advanced technical support.
- Assist
with system commissioning, testing, and go-live activities.
Pre-Sales & Customer Engagement
- Act
as a trusted technical advisor throughout the sales cycle.
- Participate
in customer discovery sessions to understand business and operational
requirements.
- Deliver
technical presentations, product demonstrations, Proof of Concepts (PoCs),
and workshops.
- Assist
with solution proposals, technical responses, and effort estimations.
- Engage
with executive leadership, plant management, engineering teams, and IT
stakeholders.
IT/OT Integration
- Design
and implement integrations between operational technology and enterprise
systems.
- Support
integrations with ERP, historians, databases, cloud platforms, and
third-party applications.
- Configure
APIs, data exchange mechanisms, and industrial communication protocols.
- Support
cloud, hybrid, and on-premises deployments.
Project Delivery
- Collaborate
with project managers and implementation teams throughout project
execution.
- Provide
technical leadership during solution deployment.
- Support
Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), User
Acceptance Testing (UAT), and production rollouts.
- Ensure
projects are delivered according to scope, timelines, quality standards,
and customer expectations.

Sumo Tech at industry conferences, customer events, and technical forums.
Requirements
Education
- Diploma
in Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Automation, Information
Technology, or a related discipline.
OR
- BSc/BTech
Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Automation,
Information Technology, or a related discipline.
Experience
- Diploma
holders: Minimum 7 years of relevant industry experience.
- Degree
holders: Minimum 3-5 years of relevant industry experience.
- Proven
experience implementing Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
- Experience
delivering industrial software and digital transformation projects.
- Experience
working in manufacturing, mining, utilities, energy, or heavy industrial
environments is highly advantageous.
