Senior Microsoft SQL Support Engineer

One of our client is currently looking for a Microsoft SQL Support Engineer to manage their Microsoft SQL environment, as well their partner's in Germany:

• System administration of the Microsoft SQL server environment (system DBA tasks like database creation, deletion, backup, restore, optimization, security, deployment of scripts, ...) of the Microsoft SQL databases
• Assistance to development DBA where required (e.g. performance tuning)
• Enforcement and monitoring of security guidelines and standards
• Monitoring, change and patch management of the Microsoft SQL Server environment
• Advisory role for product lifecycle and additional development of the landscape
• Disaster recovery check and implementation
• Ensure optimal 2nd/3rd level (interface to Microsoft and other 3rd parties) support
• Keep operating and installation documentation for the above areas up to date
• Manage (day to day) = second-level support, pick up cases helpdesk can't solve

This is a long-term mission and the work will be peformed at our client's premises in Brussels, Belgium.

• A Computer Science degree, Trainings as a Microsoft Specialist for system integration or a comparable education are required
• An excellent level of English as well as French and/or Dutch (native level) is required
• Very good and proven experience in Microsoft SQL management
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2014/2016
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2012R2/2016
• Solid Knowledge of PowerShell is a must
• Knowledge of IIS and Linux is considered an asset
• Any knowledge of German is considered a strong asset
