Summary
Builds and maintains production computer vision models (food recognition and quality assessment) and demand/delivery-time forecasting models for a pizza restaurant chain operating in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. Day-to-day work centers on ML deployment, monitoring, and optimizing models for limited compute and real-time performance.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, deploy, and maintain computer vision models for recognition and quality assessment;
- Ensure model accuracy and reliability as restaurant operating conditions change;
- Investigate complaints and disputed cases related to model accuracy and identify required improvements to models and data;
- Develop and improve models for demand and delivery time forecasting;
- Monitor model performance and identify accuracy and reliability issues;
- Optimize models to operate under limited computing resources and real-time performance requirements;
- Work closely with the Data team to identify and resolve data quality issues;
- Analyze real-world data, including camera footage, sales history, and other incomplete or changing datasets;
- Drive ML-related problems through to resolution, including issues related to data, infrastructure, or business processes;
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and clearly communicate model limitations and results to non-technical stakeholders.
- Hands-on experience developing and deploying Computer Vision models in production;
- Experience with forecasting and predictive modeling;
- Experience working with real-world, incomplete, and changing datasets;
- Understanding of ML model deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement in production;
- Experience optimizing models for limited computing resources and performance requirements;
- Ability to investigate model performance issues and work with Data and Engineering teams to identify and implement solutions.
