Senior Mobile Developer

Summary

Senior Mobile Developer leads Android-first mobile app development with AI-accelerated workflows, bridging web (Ionic/Capacitor) and native hardware (BLE) for Phase 1 Android and future iOS expansion.

๐ŸŒŸ Accomplished Tech Visionary:

Elevate your expertise to new heights at 3Pillar, the premier destination for trailblazing senior software engineers like yourself. Picture collaborating with industry leaders, spearheading transformative projects that redefine urban living, establishing new media channels for enterprise companies, or driving innovation in healthcare. Our mission is to revolutionize the tech landscape, and your skills are integral to achieving this ambitious goal.

Your role extends beyond the realm of code composition; you will architect transformative solutions that reshape entire industries. Join us and spearhead the charge toward a tech future that transcends the ordinary.

You will be focused on the development and optimization of mobile applications, orchestrating an AI-accelerated development process. The project's first phase centers on enhancing a dedicated Android-only application, followed by a second phase delivering an application targeting both Android and iOS platforms. Your role is critical in bridging web technologies (Ionic/Capacitor) with complex native device hardware, specifically deep Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) integrations, fully supported and accelerated by AI tools. ๐Ÿ”ฎ๐ŸŒ

Requirement

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate effective communication with client project stakeholders regarding project status and recommendations.

  • Act as a force multiplier by orchestrating AI coding tools to rapidly scaffold Capacitor plugin interfaces, boilerplate UI, and test suites.

  • Review and correct AI-generated code across a multi-language stack (TypeScript, Kotlin, Swift), quickly identifying and rectifying AI hallucinations or deprecated API usage, especially regarding hardware permissions and native interactions.

  • Architect and build the native bridge allowing the JavaScript WebView to communicate with native hardware seamlessly, handling asynchronous high-frequency data streams (like BLE payloads) without bottlenecking the UI thread.

  • Lead the Phase 1 Android implementation by developing robust background services, managing complex BLE connections (GAP, GATT, MTU negotiations), and ensuring battery-optimized hardware communication.

  • Design TypeScript Capacitor interfaces with cross-platform foresight, ensuring the Android API design can be smoothly replicated in Swift/CoreBluetooth during the Phase 2 iOS expansion.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver a world-class mobile experience.

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in React Native, TypeScript, Expo and mobile development.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Strong Web-to-Native framework experience (Ionic, Capacitor, or similar) โ€“ minimum 5 years.

  • Deep Native Android experience (Kotlin/Java) โ€“ minimum 3+ years, specifically with background services, thread management, and modern Android permission models (Android 12+).

  • Advanced Native BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) expertise โ€“ profound understanding of GATT/GAP, connection stability, auto-reconnections, and MTU size negotiations on native Android.

  • AI-Augmented Development proficiency โ€“ hands-on experience driving AI code assistants (Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude) and engineering context for multi-language stacks.

  • Custom Plugin Development โ€“ proven ability to write custom native code and expose it to the JavaScript layer via modern plugin APIs (Capacitor preferred).

  • Solid understanding of mobile app performance optimization techniques.

  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with a focus on debugging complex web-to-native hardware bridges and delivering clean, maintainable code.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • English proficiency.

Desired

  • Familiarity with iOS native development (Swift, CoreBluetooth) to ensure smooth cross-platform architectural design for future phases.

  • Strong understanding of local databases (e.g., SQLite, Realm) and offline-first mobile app strategies.
