Experienced Mobile App Developer needed to develop Aimer’s high-quality, user-friendly mobile applications that farmers love to use. You are a skilled Mobile App Developer with expertise in React Native and native mobile development. You will be responsible for building intuitive, reliable, and scalable applications that farmers can’t live without. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you’ll transform ideas and AI-driven innovations into seamless in-paddock experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Mobile Platform Ownership

· Own the architecture, performance, and reliability of Aimer’s mobile applications

· Drive decisions around React Native vs native implementations, including when to extend with native modules

· Establish and maintain mobile engineering standards, patterns, and best practices

Offline-First & Real-World Engineering

· Design and implement robust offline-first functionality, including caching, sync, and conflict resolution

· Optimise applications for low connectivity, device limitations, and real-world usage conditions

· Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to performance, memory, battery usage, and platform constraints

Delivery & Lifecycle Management

· Own the end-to-end mobile lifecycle: development, testing, release, monitoring, and iteration

· Manage App Store and Google Play releases, including versioning, rollout strategies, and compliance

· Maintain high standards of code quality, testing, and CI/CD practices

Cross-Functional Collaboration

· Work closely with product, design, and data teams to translate complex requirements into simple, intuitive mobile experiences

· Integrate machine vision and AI workflows into mobile-first user journeys

· Advocate for mobile users (farmers) in product and engineering decisions

Skills & Experience

Core Experience

· 8+ years software development experience, with 5+ years focused on mobile applications in production environments

· Proven track record delivering and maintaining complex mobile applications at scale

· Deep expertise in React Native, including performance optimisation and native module integration

Native Mobile Expertise

· Strong hands-on experience with iOS (Swift, Objective-C) and Android (Java, Kotlin)

· Experience diagnosing and resolving native-level issues (performance, threading, memory, platform APIs)

Offline & Real-World Systems

· Experience handling unreliable networks, background processing constraints, device variability and sync strategies

Architecture & Quality

· Strong understanding of mobile architecture patterns, state management, and scalability

· Experience with mobile observability (crash reporting, analytics, performance monitoring)

· Experience with CI/CD pipelines for mobile (e.g. GitHub Actions, Fastlane)

· Familiarity with automated testing (unit, integration, UI testing)

Integration & Platform

· Experience integrating with REST APIs, cloud services (AWS preferred), and third-party SDKs

· Experience with push notifications, remote config, and feature flagging

Highly Desirable

· Experience building applications used in field-based or low-connectivity environments (e.g. agriculture, logistics, construction)

· Experience modernising or rebuilding mobile platforms with existing technical debt

· Experience contributing to or defining mobile architecture and technical strategy

Bonus: Experience in farming or agri-tech.
