Senior Murex Developer - Datamart

Our Client a leading bank in Asia with a global network of more than 500 branches and offices in 19 countries and territories in Asia Pacific, Europe, and North America, are looking for Software Engineers. The Technology and Operations function is comprised of five teams of specialists with distinct capabilities: business partnership, technology, operations, risk governance, and planning support and services. They work closely together to harness the power of technology to support our physical and digital banking services and operations. This includes developing, centralising, and standardising technology systems as well as banking operations in Malaysia and overseas branches. The client has more than 80 years of history in the banking industry and is expanding its footprint in Malaysia. You will be working in a newly set-up technology centre located in Kuala Lumpur as part of Technology and Operations to deliver innovative financial technology solutions that enable business growth and technology transformation. This role is for the Global Markets Programme - Risk Project implementation using Murex v3. The role is based in Kuala Lumpur and requires interaction with users and stakeholders in Malaysia, Singapore & overseas..

Responsibilities

• 1. Murex Datamart Development
• Design, develop, and maintain Murex Datamart reporting solutions.
• Develop Datamart extracts, cubes, and reporting interfaces.
• Support enhancements, bug fixes, and optimization initiatives.
• Configure and customize Datamart reporting components. 2. Reporting & Data Management
• Develop and support: - Regulatory reporting - Accounting-based reports - Simulation-based reports - Liquidity and risk reporting - Downstream reporting interfaces
• Ensure data accuracy, reconciliation, and reporting consistency. 3. Migration & Enhancement Projects
• Participate in Murex upgrade, migration, and implementation projects.
• Perform impact analysis and support release activities.
• Deliver enhancements aligned with business requirements. 4. Database & Query Development
• Develop and optimize SQL queries and database objects.
• Work with: - Oracle - SQL Server 2012
• Perform data validation and performance tuning. 5. Production Support & Issue Resolution
• Investigate and resolve production issues related to Datamart reporting.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective solutions.
• Support SIT, UAT, and production deployment activities. 6. Stakeholder Collaboration
• Work closely with Finance, Risk, Operations, and Front Office teams.
• Collaborate with functional and technical stakeholders to deliver reporting solutions.
• Provide technical documentation and knowledge transfer.

SKILLS

Must have

• 6-9 years of experience in Murex MX.3, with strong exposure to Datamart development and reporting solutions.
• Strong hands-on experience with: - Murex Datamart - Datamart architecture and reporting framework - Data extraction and reporting interfaces - Downstream system integration
• Experience working as a Systems Analyst, Functional Analyst, or Technical Business Analyst within Murex environments.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end trade lifecycle and Murex data models.
• Proven experience supporting: - Regulatory reporting - Accounting and Finance reporting - Market Risk reporting - Liquidity Risk reporting - Simulation-based reporting
• Strong SQL development and data analysis skills.
• Hands-on experience with: - Oracle Database - Microsoft SQL Server
• Experience producing: - Functional Specifications - Source-to-Target Mapping Documents - Data Transformation Rules - Integration Requirements
• Strong understanding of data reconciliation, control processes, and data quality frameworks.
• Experience performing impact analysis, data lineage analysis, and requirement gathering.
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments.
• Programming knowledge in Java and/or Python.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently in complex, multi-regional environments.
• Good understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), testing, release, and deployment processes.

Nice to have

• Experience with Murex MX.3 upgrade or migration programs. • Knowledge of MxML and Murex integration architecture. • Experience with Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) platforms and reporting ecosystems. • Exposure to ETL and integration technologies. • Experience with Capital Markets products including: - FX - Rates - Fixed Income - Money Markets - Structured Products - Derivatives • Understanding of FRTB, Basel, and regulatory reporting frameworks. • Experience working in Agile delivery environments. • Exposure to DevOps and CI/CD practices. • Prior experience within global banking or financial services organizations.
