Senior .NET Backend Developer

In this role you will drive the backend architecture for a technology business undergoing platform modernisation. You’ll work closely with product and engineering teams to design, develop, and maintain scalable REST APIs and services, while guiding best practices and security. You will influence architectural decisions, mentor engineers, and help resolve complex production issues. This is a hands-on, cross-functional position with a strong emphasis on delivering robust, maintainable systems and modernising legacy software.

• Design, develop and maintain backend services and APIs using C# and .NET / ASP.NET Core
• Contribute to architectural decisions across backend services, integrations and data
• Modernise legacy applications into scalable, maintainable web-based solutions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust technical solutions
• Promote engineering best practices, including automated testing, code quality and security
• Investigate and resolve complex production issues
• Support technical leadership through mentoring, knowledge sharing and architectural guidance

• Commercial experience with C#, .NET and ASP.NET Core
• Strong background developing scalable APIs and backend services
• Experience designing software architecture and distributed systems
• Solid SQL and relational database knowledge
• Strong understanding of software design principles, dependency injection and automated testing
• Experience working on complex or legacy software modernization projects
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence technical decisions
