Senior .NET Developer

Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior .NET Developer with 6–8 years of strong hands-on experience in backend application development. The candidate should have a solid understanding of .NET, .NET Core, Web Services, REST APIs, HTTPS, SQL and GraphQL, along with experience in designing scalable backend solutions and integrating with external systems.

The candidate should be capable of independently handling development activities, troubleshooting complex technical issues, participating in solution discussions, and working closely with architects, technical leads, frontend developers, QA and business teams.

Technical Skills & Responsibilities

.NET / Backend Development

• Strong hands-on experience with C#, .NET and .NET Core.
  
• Good understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), SOLID principles and common design patterns.
  
• Experience developing RESTful APIs and backend services using .NET Core.
  
• Good understanding of ASP.NET Core Web API, middleware, dependency injection, configuration and exception handling.
  
• Experience with Web Services and service-to-service communication.
  
• Good understanding of HTTP/HTTPS protocols, HTTP methods, status codes, headers, authentication and secure API communication.
  
• Understanding of API security concepts such as JWT/OAuth, authentication and authorization.
  
• Experience with API versioning, validation, logging and error handling.
  
• Understanding of asynchronous programming, async/await, multithreading and performance considerations.
  
• Experience working with third-party APIs and external system integrations.
  
• Good understanding of JSON, XML and data serialization/deserialization.
  

GraphQL

• Good hands-on knowledge of GraphQL.
  
• Understanding of Queries, Mutations, Schemas, Resolvers and GraphQL APIs.
  
• Experience integrating GraphQL with backend services and databases.
  
• Ability to troubleshoot API performance and data-fetching issues.
  

SQL / Database

• Strong knowledge of SQL Server and relational database concepts.
  
• Ability to write complex SQL queries, joins, subqueries, CTEs and stored procedures.
  
• Good understanding of database design, indexing and query optimization.
  
• Experience analyzing and resolving SQL performance issues.
  
• Understanding of transactions, locking and concurrency.
  
• Experience working with ORM technologies such as Entity Framework / Entity Framework Core.
  

Backend Engineering

• Experience designing and implementing scalable and maintainable backend services.
  
• Understanding of microservices and service-oriented architecture.
  
• Knowledge of caching, API performance optimization and efficient resource utilization.
  
• Experience implementing structured logging, exception handling and monitoring.
  
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, Git and deployment processes.
  
• Good understanding of application configuration across different environments such as Development, QA, UAT and Production.
  
• Experience troubleshooting production issues and performing root cause analysis (RCA).
  
• Ability to identify technical risks and provide appropriate mitigation approaches.
  
• Understanding of secure coding practices and common application security vulnerabilities.
  

Experience & Ownership

• 6–8 years of professional experience in software development with significant hands-on experience in .NET/backend technologies.
  
• Should have experience working on enterprise-level applications with multiple integrations and dependent systems.
  
• Experience taking ownership of features/modules from requirement analysis through development, testing, deployment and production support.
  
• Ability to independently analyze requirements and convert them into technical solutions.
  
• Should be comfortable reviewing existing code and identifying opportunities for refactoring, performance improvement and technical debt reduction.
  
• Experience conducting code reviews and maintaining development standards.
  
• Ability to estimate development effort and identify dependencies, assumptions and technical risks.
  
• Should be able to work in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
  
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including frontend developers, QA, DevOps, architects and business analysts.
  
• Should demonstrate a strong sense of ownership and accountability for assigned deliverables.
  

Problem Solving & Production Support

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  
• Ability to troubleshoot complex application, API and database issues.
  
• Experience analyzing logs, exceptions and application behaviour to identify root causes.
  
• Ability to distinguish between code defects, configuration issues, infrastructure issues and integration failures.
  
• Experience supporting production deployments and resolving critical production issues.
  
• Ability to work effectively under production/support pressure while following appropriate escalation processes.
  
• Should be able to document RCA and recommend preventive actions.

• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  
• Should be able to actively participate in technical discussions and explain design/implementation decisions.
  
• Ability to collaborate effectively with Technical Leads, Architects, Product Owners, Business Analysts, QA and DevOps teams.
  
• Should proactively communicate progress, blockers, risks, dependencies and delivery impact.
  
• Ability to challenge technical approaches constructively and suggest alternative solutions when required.
  
• Should be comfortable participating in requirement clarification and solution-design discussions.
  
• Good documentation skills, including API documentation, technical design documents and RCA documents.
  
• Ability to mentor junior developers and support other team members technically.
