Our client is a leading financial services organisation based in Sydney CBD, currently undertaking a significant technology transformation program. With a strong focus on modern engineering practices, cloud technologies, and digital innovation, they are seeking an experienced Senior .NET Engineer to join their high-performing technology team.
The Opportunity
This is an exciting 12-month daily rate contract for a hands-on Senior .NET Engineer who enjoys building scalable, secure, and high-performing enterprise applications. You will work on business-critical platforms and collaborate closely with architects, product owners, and engineering teams to deliver innovative solutions.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical background alongside proven experience working in contract roles, allowing them to quickly adapt, deliver value, and operate effectively within dynamic enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and enhance enterprise applications using the Microsoft technology stack.
Build and maintain REST APIs and backend services.
Work closely with business and technical stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.
Contribute to solution design and architectural discussions.
Drive engineering best practices through code reviews, testing, and continuous improvement.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
Mentor developers and contribute to a collaborative team culture.
Participate in Agile ceremonies and delivery activities.
Skills & Experience
Essential
5+ years of .NET development experience.
Minimum 3 years of contract experience within enterprise environments.
Strong expertise in:
C#
.NET Core / .NET 6+
ASP.NET Core
RESTful APIs
SQL Server
Azure Cloud Services
Experience building and supporting enterprise-scale applications.
Strong understanding of software design patterns and modern architecture principles.
Experience working within Agile delivery teams.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Highly Desirable
Previous experience within financial services, banking, insurance, wealth management, or fintech.
Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipeline experience.
Microservices architecture experience.
Docker and containerisation experience.
Front-end experience with React or Angular.
Experience working in highly regulated environments.
