What You’ll Be Doing (The Big Picture)

As our Senior Network Administrator, you are a high-level technical anchor for our team and clients! You will balance advanced troubleshooting with daily ticket resolution, active system monitoring, and client support. From digging into Wireshark captures and debugging firewall traffic to configuring VLANs, switch stacks, and IPSec VPNs, you’ll solve complex infrastructure challenges independently while serving as a go-to guide for lower-level techs.

Your Core Responsibilities

1. Advanced Diagnostics & Incident Resolution

  • Provide high-level remote support for complex network incidents, handling escalations independently with minimal need for higher-level intervention.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize firewalls, switches, and wireless environments using deep CLI concepts, Wireshark packet analysis, and dynamic/static routing logic.
  • Configure and secure firewall policies, build IPSec VPN tunnels, and manage VLANs, LAGs, and switch stacks across Fortinet and Ruckus systems.

2. Proactive Systems Hygiene & Escalation Leadership

  • Actively monitor network alerts and corporate technology to prevent outages and strictly maintain client SLAs.
  • Take the lead on critical customer support requests, keeping clients informed with professional, clear communication and thorough ticket documentation.
  • Participate in a rotational on-call schedule to support emergency client needs and critical network events.

3. Infrastructure Projects & Team Elevation

  • Assist engineering teams with complex technology implementations, network upgrades, and periodic physical installations.
  • Help train, coach, and elevate junior technicians on troubleshooting best practices and standard operating procedures.
  • Assess hardware and software health to anticipate future capacity needs across internal departments and client facilities.

The Workspace & Environment

This is a remote position where you’ll collaborate daily via messaging, phone, and video calls. You should be comfortable balancing multiple high-priority tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, taking ownership of customer outcomes, and jumping into on-call rotations when scheduled.
