Senior Network Automation Engineer
Location: Brussels, Belgium (Relocation required) – Council of the EU
Work model: Hybrid (3 days/week on-site)
Eligibility: EU citizens only (Mandatory requirement)
About the Role: We are looking for a Senior NetOps/Network Automation Engineer to join the EU Council team in Brussels. You will design and implement modern automation solutions within a large-scale, highly secure, and regulated government environment.
Your Tasks:
Design and implement network automation using modern DevOps/NetOps practices.
Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) frameworks for scalable network operations.
Automate device deployment via Zero Touch Provisioning (ZTP) and PXE boot.
Build network configuration templates and automated testing pipelines.
Deploy and manage containerised automation tools and services.
Support data center, campus, cloud, and security networking.
Implement network monitoring, telemetry, analytics, and compliance.
Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and cloud teams.
Required Knowledge & Skills:
Hands-on experience with Ansible, NetBox, GitLab CI/CD, Python, and IaC.
Strong background in NetOps/SecOps automation and automated provisioning/config management.
Knowledge of container networking (Kubernetes, Docker).
Experience with hybrid-cloud integration and enterprise/security networking.
Readiness to relocate to Brussels and work on-site 3 days a week.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in large-scale enterprise, government, or regulated environments.
Background in telecom & data-centre consulting with strong stakeholder management skills.
Vendor certifications: Cisco, Aruba, VMware, Fortinet, Check Point, AWS, Azure, or similar.
