Senior Network Engineer | Cisco & Data Centre | Hybrid Work, 1 year contract
Summary
12-month contract (extendable) Senior Network Engineer role in Singapore via staffing firm RecruitFirst, deployed to a technology services client on a hybrid basis (min. 3 days onsite). Day-to-day: designing and deploying enterprise campus and data centre networks — Cisco Nexus/Catalyst, L2/L3 routing and switching, firewalls, load balancers and VPN/security tech.

Contract Duration: 12 months, with potential for extension
We are looking for an experienced Network Engineer to join our client, a leading technology services provider supporting enterprise clients with IT infrastructure and solutions.
In this role, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, deployment and optimisation of enterprise and data centre network solutions, working closely with customers and internal technical teams to deliver reliable and scalable network infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement enterprise campus and data centre networks based on industry best practices.
Develop High-Level Designs (HLD) and Low-Level Designs (LLD) for network infrastructure.
Deploy and configure network solutions including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers and other network appliances.
Perform installation, configuration, maintenance, upgrades and troubleshooting of network hardware and software.
Support Cisco enterprise routing and switching, including core LAN/WAN infrastructure.
Monitor network performance and troubleshoot network issues to ensure optimal availability and performance.
Implement and manage network technologies including L2/L3 switching, VLAN, VRF, vPC, Spanning Tree, VTP and routing protocols.
Work with security and network protocols including IPSec VPN, SSL VPN, QoS, AAA, 802.1X, NAT and related technologies.
Conduct technical research and stay updated on emerging networking technologies and industry standards.
Work directly with customers and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver appropriate network solutions.
Requirements
Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience in network design, deployment and implementation.
Strong experience with Cisco Nexus 9000 and Cisco Catalyst 9000 switching platforms.
Proven experience working with enterprise core and/or data centre networks.
Strong knowledge of L2/L3 networking, including VLAN, VRF, vPC, Spanning Tree and VTP.
Strong understanding of IP routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP and EIGRP.
Hands-on knowledge of network security technologies such as IPSec VPN, SSL VPN, AAA, 802.1X and NAT.
Experience in network troubleshooting, optimisation and infrastructure upgrades.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work directly with enterprise customers and stakeholders.
Able to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Degree/Diploma in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline is preferred.
Good to Have
Experience with Cisco WLC / wireless technologies.
Knowledge of Aruba Wireless.
Working knowledge of Ekahau.
Experience with Cisco ASA / Firepower.
Knowledge of Palo Alto Networks.
Experience with SD-WAN, IPS/IDS and network security solutions.
