Senior Network Engineer (Cloud & Automation)

Randstad Sourceright is proud to be partnering with and working alongside a leading FMCG company headquartered in Docklands, Melbourne. This company has multiple manufacturing sites across Australia alongside many well known household brands/products.

Reporting to the Network Lead, this hands-on role designs and operates secure enterprise, AWS and manufacturing networks, driving automation via Terraform and code to deliver resilient, high-availability connectivity across our sites.

Role: Senior Network Engineer (Cloud & Automation)

Location: Port Melbourne - hybrid (3 days in the office)

Job Type: Contract - 6 Months initially (ongoing)

Start Date: ASAP

Rate: depending on experience

Responsibilities:

• Network Engineering & Operations: Design, deploy and manage secure, high-availability enterprise LAN, WAN, wireless, and AWS cloud connectivity across corporate and manufacturing facilities.

• Cloud & Network as Code: Automate cloud and on-premises network provisioning, configuration and validation using Terraform, APIs, and modern Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.

• Manufacturing & OT Security: Implement robust network segmentation, access control policies (Cisco ISE), and Fortinet firewall protections tailored to FMCG production constraints.

• Incident & Problem Management: Provide senior-tier root cause analysis and resolution for complex network incidents, participating in on-call escalations and partnering with vendors and carriers.

Experience:

• Manufacturing / FMCG Industry Background: Demonstrated experience designing and operating enterprise networks within manufacturing environments, with FMCG industry experience preferred.

• Coding & Automation: Practical software development/coding abilities combined with hands-on proficiency using Terraform to orchestrate cloud networking infrastructure.

• Technical Expertise: Hands-on proficiency with AWS cloud networking, Cisco routing/switching/wireless, Fortinet firewalls, VPNs and Cisco ISE access control.

• OT & Production Acumen: Demonstrated experience navigating Operational Technology (OT) and manufacturing change controls, balancing continuous production line uptime with strict cyber security standards.

• Cloud & Automation (AWS & Terraform): Proven track record delivering enterprise cloud infrastructure, with hands-on proficiency in AWS architecture, administration and provisioning via Terraform.

• Scripting & Code Capabilities: Demonstrated ability to code and automate workflows using PowerShell, Bash/shell scripting, or modern scripting languages alongside Git-based version control.

• Core Systems Stack: Comprehensive background in VMware virtualisation, Windows and Linux server administration, networking (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP) and disaster recovery frameworks.
