Summary
Designs, implements, and troubleshoots enterprise-grade data-centre networks (spine-leaf, VXLAN/EVPN) and hybrid-cloud connectivity for a regulated insurance business, ensuring high availability, security, and compliance with MAS TRM.
We are seeking an experienced
Senior Network Engineer (CCIE-certified or equivalent)
to support and enhance our
Singapore Data Centre and regional network infrastructure . This role is critical in ensuring high availability, low latency, and secure operations across our insurance business, underwriting systems, digital applications, and regulatory environments. You will lead
design, implementation, and advanced troubleshooting
of data centre networks, hybrid cloud connectivity, and security infrastructure while working closely with architecture, cybersecurity, and application teams.
Key Responsibilities Network Architecture & Design Design and implement
data centre network solutions
including spine-leaf, multi-tier architectures, VXLAN, EVPN, and high-availability environments. Lead L2/L3 network design aligned to industry standards and MAS/TRM regulatory requirements. Provide architectural recommendations for network modernization, cloud integration, and data centre refresh initiatives. Operations & Engineering Manage day-to-day operations of the data centre network including routing, switching, load balancing, and firewall components. Perform advanced troubleshooting across complex multi-vendor environments. Oversee network capacity planning, performance tuning, and continuous optimization. Ensure resilience through redundancy, failover strategies, and disaster recovery readiness. Security & Compliance Implement network security best practices including segmentation, access control, IPS/IDS, and zero-trust-aligned configurations. Ensure full compliance with
MAS TRM , internal audit, and industry cybersecurity standards. Support audits, produce compliance documentation, and remediate network-related vulnerabilities. Project Delivery & Stakeholder Engagement Lead and execute regional infrastructure projects (data centre upgrades, migrations, cloud connectivity, SD-WAN expansion). Collaborate with architecture, cloud, cybersecurity, and application teams to ensure seamless end-to-end delivery. Engage with vendors, telcos, and service providers on technical strategy, issue resolution, and solution design.
Required Skills & Experience Technical Skills CCIE (Routing & Switching / Enterprise Infrastructure / Data Center)
– mandatory or equivalent expert-level capability. Strong hands-on expertise in: Routing protocols: BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, IS-IS Switching: VLANs, STP, VPC, FabricPath, vPC, LACP DC technologies: VXLAN, EVPN, Spine-Leaf, MPLS Load balancers: F5 / Citrix Netscaler (preferred) Firewalls: Palo Alto / Cisco Firepower / Fortinet (nice to have) SD-WAN solutions (Cisco, VMware, Aruba) Cloud & Integration (preferred) Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP networking (Transit Gateway, VPC, Direct Connect, ExpressRoute). Exposure to hybrid-cloud or cloud-migration initiatives. Soft Skills Strong problem-solving abilities in high-pressure, regulated environments. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to work independently and mentor junior engineers. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. CCIE-certified
(active or suspended within 2 years). 10–15 years of experience in enterprise networking, with at 5 years in data centre operations or architecture.
Due to quota reasons, potential incumbent should be Singapore Citizen or holding Singapore Permanent Resident status.
