Senior Network Engineer
Summary
Design and implement secure, scalable network architectures for complex systems, primarily using Cisco hardware and scripting for automation.
Responsibilities
Design and update network and solution architecture diagrams, Bills of Materials (BOM/LOS), cost templates, and network interfaces.
Develop and maintain network solution specifications, design documentation, Network Acceptance Test Procedures, and network integration documents.
Configure, load, validate, integrate, and hand over network and system equipment in factory and customer-site environments.
Provide network and infrastructure expertise for complex, software-centric and real-time systems.
Design and implement secure network architectures aligned with security standards and policies.
Support configuration changes, system integration, testing, deployment, and troubleshooting across factory and customer environments.
Identify solution-level technical risks and recommend validated alternative solutions and mitigation approaches.
Lead and coordinate small technical teams, including task allocation, prioritisation, estimation, and progress tracking.
Support project design reviews, key milestones, triage and change boards, and ensure timely delivery of technical outputs and documentation.
Act as the primary technical point of contact for the team and coordinate with engineering, customer service, site services, and other stakeholders.
Provide customer training and support effective communication with local and international customers.
Ensure quality, configuration management compliance, and continuous improvement of engineering processes and deliverables.
Requirements
Degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in network/infrastructure engineering roles, preferably supporting complex software-centric or real-time systems.
Strong experience in network architecture, infrastructure design, routing, switching, QoS, and network security.
Hands-on experience designing secure network architectures in line with security standards and policies.
Strong experience with Cisco networking equipment; CCNP/CCNA or equivalent Cisco certification is preferred.
Hands-on experience with firewall configuration, network security, and enterprise networking environments.
Experience with Unix/Linux operating systems, preferably Red Hat.
Experience with network and infrastructure hardware, preferably Cisco.
Knowledge of network automation/scripting; experience with TCL/TK, Perl, Shell, Python, or similar scripting languages is advantageous.
Proven experience leading small technical teams and coordinating tasks across multiple activities.
Strong stakeholder management, problem-solving, conflict-resolution, and independent decision-making skills.
Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary, multicultural, and international environments.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Experience with large and distributed networked computer systems or mission-critical/near-real-time environments is advantageous.
Experience with SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) is desirable.
