Senior Network & Firewall Engineer – Fortinet Sydney | Hybrid

We’re partnering with a leading enterprise organisation seeking a Senior Network & Firewall Engineer with strong, hands-on Fortinet Next-Generation Firewall experience.

This is a genuinely technical role focused on enterprise firewall architecture, migrations and complex network infrastructure. You’ll take ownership of projects from planning and design through to implementation, including production and DR migrations.

What You'll Do

• Design, configure and implement Fortinet FortiGate firewall environments.
• Deliver complex enterprise firewall migrations and cutovers.
• Work across HA/clustered environments and multiple VDOMs.
• Manage Fortinet environments using FortiManager and ADOMs.
• Configure and troubleshoot static and dynamic routing.
• Develop detailed migration, implementation and rollback plans.
• Troubleshoot complex firewall, routing, NAT and VPN issues.
• Work across production and DR environments.
• Manage changes through formal enterprise change processes.
• Review and understand environments where documentation is limited or outdated.
• Produce clear technical documentation and implementation plans.
• Participate in planned after-hours migrations.

What We're Looking For
Strong Fortinet experience is essential.
You’ll need proven hands-on experience with:

• FortiGate / FortiOS
• Fortinet HA and clustering
• VDOMs
• FortiManager / ADOMs
• Enterprise firewall migrations
• Static and dynamic routing
• BGP / OSPF or similar
• NAT, VPN and firewall policies
• Production and DR environments
• Complex network troubleshooting
• Change management and technical documentation

We’re looking for someone who can explain the technical "why" behind their decisions, not simply follow existing configurations.

Highly Regarded

• Fortinet certifications
• Large-scale firewall migration experience
• Palo Alto or Cisco firewall experience
• MSP, Systems Integrator or Consulting background
• Enterprise/data-centre networking experience
