Your new company

This Federal Government department is seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to support the design, implementation, management and ongoing support of its enterprise network infrastructure. The environment spans on-premises and cloud networking, with a strong focus on network security, availability and performance.

Your new role

Working across a complex enterprise environment, you will be responsible for:

  • Designing, implementing and maintaining enterprise network infrastructure.
  • Configuring and managing routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers and associated network technologies.
  • Supporting LAN, WAN, data centre, wireless and network security environments.
  • Managing VPNs, DNS, DHCP, IP addressing and routing protocols.
  • Monitoring network performance and troubleshooting complex network issues.
  • Working across Cisco, HPE Aruba, Fortinet and Palo Alto technologies.
  • Supporting networking across Microsoft Azure and AWS environments.
  • Applying network automation and scripting to configuration and management activities.
  • Identifying and remediating network vulnerabilities alongside cybersecurity teams.
  • Producing technical documentation, network diagrams and supporting documentation.

    What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Extensive enterprise network engineering experience across design, implementation, management and support.
  • Strong experience with Cisco, HPE Aruba, Fortinet and/or Palo Alto technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of routing, switching, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, IP addressing, firewalls and load balancing.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex network environments with a focus on availability, performance and security.
  • Experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools.
  • Experience with network automation and scripting.
  • Strong knowledge of network security principles and vulnerability remediation.
  • Experience delivering networking solutions across Azure and AWS environments.
  • Relevant networking or cloud certifications such as CCNP, CCIE or AWS Certified Advanced Networking will be highly regarded.
  • You will also need to hold an active NV1 security clearance.

What you'll get in return

You will secure an initial 6-month contract with a Federal Government department, with up to 3 x 12-month extension options. The role offers the opportunity to work across enterprise networking, network security and cloud environments rather than being limited to one area of network engineering.
