Senior Network Engineer / Network Manager from FSI (up to 85k)
Summary
Senior network engineer or network manager at a major financial services organisation in Hong Kong, designing and modernising network infrastructure across data centres, trading connectivity, enterprise networks and cloud integration. Core tech: routing, spine-leaf fabrics, EVPN/VXLAN, DCI, network security and automation.
Your next move could put you closer to the engineering decisions that keep financial markets connected.
Our client, a major financial services organisation, is investing in the resilience and modernisation of its network infrastructure. They are looking for experienced network professionals who enjoy solving complex problems, challenging designs and turning technical ideas into reliable production services.
Whether your strength is architectural depth or leading engineers through major change, these opportunities offer substantial scope across data centres, trading connectivity, enterprise networks and cloud integration. Your responsibilities and appointment level will reflect your experience.
Where You’ll Make an Impact
Shape important design decisions. Assess architectural options and recommend solutions that balance performance, security, resilience and cost.
Turn designs into working infrastructure. Take projects through technical validation, migration planning, deployment and operational handover.
Strengthen connectivity across environments. Address challenges involving DC fabrics, inter-site links, colocation, corporate networks and critical business applications.
Bring independent technical judgement. Challenge vendor assumptions, identify hidden dependencies and resolve issues across engineering, security and application teams.
Improve how engineering gets done. Apply automation, scripting and appropriate AI tools to reduce repetitive work and improve delivery quality.
Take ownership at the right level. Lead technical workstreams and, for management appointments, guide engineers, delivery priorities, vendors and resources.
What Makes You a Strong Match
You bring substantial network engineering experience and can explain the decisions behind your work—not simply the technologies involved.
We would particularly like to hear from candidates with:
A relevant degree and 7+ years of experience in network engineering, architecture or technical consulting.
Strong enterprise and data centre networking knowledge, including routing, spine-leaf fabrics, EVPN/VXLAN and network security.
Practical experience with DCI, resilient connectivity, recovery arrangements or infrastructure migrations.
The confidence to evaluate proposals, communicate trade-offs and work through complex delivery challenges.
Financial services or exchange experience for architecture-focused appointments; comparable regulated, mission-critical experience may suit management opportunities.
Exposure to automation or AI-assisted engineering.
Relevant certifications such as CCNP or CCIE would be an advantage.
