Senior Network Engineer (Team Lead)
Network Engineer Lead (Senior) — RIS Central Group
About the Role
We are looking for a senior Network Engineer to lead the network side of our large-scale retail infrastructure. You will own routing, data center switching, and enterprise Wi-Fi across stores, warehouses, distribution centers, and head office.
This is a hands-on senior role. You don't need a formal lead title — but you should be ready to guide and mentor engineers in the team, set technical standards, and be the go-to person for complex network issues.
Responsibilities
Routing & WAN
Design, configure, and maintain dynamic routing (BGP, OSPF) across multi-site retail networks.
Manage branch-to-DC and DC-to-cloud connectivity, including redundancy and failover.
Lead routing changes, migrations, and cutovers with clear rollback plans.
Data Center Networking (Cisco)
Operate and improve DC network infrastructure on Cisco Nexus / Catalyst platforms.
Handle DC switching design: VLANs, vPC, port-channels, and high availability.
Plan capacity and lifecycle upgrades for DC network devices.
LAN / Wi-Fi Design & Deployment
Design and deploy enterprise LAN and Wi-Fi for store connectivity, POS, staff, and guest services.
Optimize wireless coverage, AP placement, and bandwidth across branches.
Configure switches, APs, and wireless controllers for high availability and performance.
Network Access & Security
Manage network access control using 802.1X, RADIUS/NPS, and MAC-based controls.
Maintain segmented SSIDs and VLANs for staff, operations, and guest networks.
Work with the security team on firewall rules, segmentation, and zoning policies.
Operations & Troubleshooting
Act as the escalation point for complex network incidents across all sites.
Run root cause analysis on recurring issues and drive preventive fixes.
Monitor network performance using SNMP, Syslog, and monitoring tools; track incidents against SLA.
Technical Leadership
Mentor and coach engineers in the team; review their configs and designs.
Set network standards, templates, and documentation practices.
Coordinate with vendors, ISPs, and SI partners on projects and escalations.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
10+ years of hands-on network engineering experience in enterprise, SI, or service provider environments.
Strong hands-on experience with BGP and OSPF in production networks.
Hands-on experience with Cisco Data Center platforms (Nexus; ACI is a plus).
Solid experience in enterprise Wi-Fi design and deployment (Cisco WLC, Aruba, or similar).
Working knowledge of 802.1X, RADIUS/NPS, VLAN segmentation, and firewall policies.
Experience supporting large, distributed multi-site networks; retail experience is a plus.
Experience mentoring or guiding junior engineers. A formal lead title is not required.
Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills in Thai and English.
Certifications (preferred)
CCNP Enterprise / CCNP Data Center
CCIE is a plus
