Setting the Scene
Our client is a large-scale technology services organisation delivering critical security and infrastructure services across complex enterprise environments.
Joining an established Security Operations team, you'll work across firewall management, secure VPN, protective DNS and broader security infrastructure services. This is a hands-on senior role with the opportunity to design new solutions, improve existing services and tackle complex technical challenges.
The Role
This role is suited to a Senior Security Engineer, Network Security Engineer or Security Infrastructure Specialist who enjoys hands-on technical work and taking ownership of solutions. You’ll work autonomously across a broad technology stack while contributing to new security offerings and the ongoing improvement of existing services.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead the design, implementation and management of security infrastructure services
- Manage and troubleshoot firewalls including Palo Alto, Juniper SRX, Cisco and/or Check Point
- Support secure VPN, DNS and protective DNS services
- Design, build and deploy new security service offerings
- Identify and implement improvements across existing security services
- Investigate and resolve complex network and security incidents
- Capture technical requirements and deliver appropriate security solutions
- Work across Azure and AWS security and connectivity environments
- Support technologies including routing, switching, IDS/IPS and load balancing
- Maintain clear technical documentation and build strong relationships with stakeholders
- Participate in an out-of-hours on-call roster
- Strong hands-on experience across network and security infrastructure
- Experience with enterprise firewall technologies including Palo Alto, Juniper SRX, Cisco or Check Point
- Strong knowledge of DNS and VPN technologies
- Experience designing and delivering technical security solutions
- Knowledge of Azure and/or AWS security and connectivity
- Strong networking fundamentals across routing and switching
- Experience with technologies such as IDS/IPS, load balancing and Linux and/or Windows
- Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving and incident resolution skills
- Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities
- Strong communication and technical documentation skills
